Ok.....Well, the pressure that often comes when you are in such situation is terrible....My PGWP was about to expire on July 06, 2019 so i was so proactive so applied for H&C at Summerside, Prince Edwards Island on the 6th of June, 2019 and i had worked so had enough money around $15000 remained with me so applied to go to School and luckily, it was my former University so the application was approved and i got a program and i wanted to do a second degree so within 5 days, i got an acceptance letter and applied for study permit again on June 19th, 2019 so at this time, i had two applications going on but i forgot my H&C application and started working on the program at the University and all these while i have received recommendation letters from numerous employers i worked with like 10 in total and community and leaders i've known and worked with in the community who also provided me with 20 different recommendation letters of my community volunteers and how they see me and that i should remain in canada. In the cover letter, i told IRCC my story and i was real telling them my issues and what i've experienced in canada financially and even backhome before coming to canada so if i was let go, that was not going to help me.Thanks for sharing your story with us and congrats to you. I am doing my h&c application myself. I have few questions I will like to ask you.
1) Do you have any valid visa ( or was your visa expired) when you applied for h&c?
2) Do you mind me asking the template you use in writing your H&C application. I mean the order of content on how you wrote your cover letter?
Is there a website you can recommend?
3) How many pages is your cover letter?
4) what would you say made your application stand that made IRCC approve your PR?
5) What advice would you give me that will improve my chances of approval?
Prior to this, i had applied for PNP in Nova Scotia, PNP at Prince Edwards Island and Nova scotia wanted me to have 1 year in the last 3 years of experience as an account manager/ supervisor but i had same experience in my home country back in 2008/9 before coming to canada so i asked IRCC to also exempt me from that requirement because i have had the same 1 year experience but over 10 years ago....My own was full of stories and i sent them everything i got...
From volunteer work to community support to friends and leaders as well as Salvation army publishing volunteer work about me online among others so i sent IRCC who i am as a person and not what i am...I was real and told 100% truth where i had to pay my own tuition as an international student doing BCOM and was owing $20,000 after my degree to my university and had to work and pay within 2 years so all these stories...It took me 6 years to finish my degree as i had to pay my own tuition because the brother who promised disappointed me and i had to fend for myself, pay fees, accommodations and food all from my pocket...
So i worked a lot like hell to survive so after all these years if IRCC sends me home that was not cool....so the officers could see my situation and stories and Express entry has failed me on several occations and writing the English test never worked for me and i wasted lots of money, hired an immigration consultant who did nothing for me...and all these while, i did everything and provided IRCC with all copies of everything i spoke to them about me and i was real. Everything i sent in words, i also provided evidence.
Even to the entent that the Immigration officer was like, you are a hardworking man and went by saying, we all immigrated here from different nations so i shouldn't make you stress out so im giving you a positive decision ....And also, throughout my stay in canada, the observation throughout the 10+ years ability was, ability to maintain status...So i was always maintaining my status in canada intact, applying for my visa's ontime like say 3 month before they expire to keep myself on implied status. It is a requirement you must not joke with. Stay true and be real.
Later, i got the study permit approved within a month while the H&C was received in BC or so and the obersevation was my ability to maintain status. I went to scholo for 1 semester and got an employer specific work permit based on a recommendation from my former supervisor who loved how i worked. So up till now, i still have TRV expiring in 2023, Study permit expiring in 2023, Employer specific work permit expiring in December 2023 with comment in the work permit requiring me to renew my passport to renew the visa and now the PR.......Your story must be real...Give them everything you have or experience but mind you H&C is not another way of immigrating but on exceptional cases and an officer must be convinced and feel the story and put themselves in your shoes
