I think that co-op permit is required if its mandatory for the compeletion of ur degree.... I am not dropping from uni just skiping a term
As soon as you drop out- you are becoming illegal.
That co-op is just your idea and not a part of your program. So you are going to work illegally. For SP holder to work legally he MUST be enrolled on full time studies, or if we are talking about co-op AS A PART of a program- a student has to get a special WP.

...very good for the hardworking student pursuing his/her studies but those other drop-outs will be rewarded with jobs if not discovered by CIC.
Depends on what your end term goal is----you still have a SIN number begining with a "9" so potential employers will want a copy of your study permit. What happens when your permit expires? You cannot prove to employers that you have a valiud sin# so no legal job for you and you cannot apply for anything because CIC knows you violated the conditions of your SP and thus will not grant you any immigration benefits

Not necessary. For most employers as long as you have SIN it is OK. But you are right in everything else.
If you have a SIN number begining with a 9, BY LAW they are required to have proof on file on when the SIN will expire

Employers must ensure that employees with a SIN beginning with the number "9" are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid immigration document. ◦SINs beginning with the number "9" are issued to temporary foreign workers who are neither Canadian citizens nor permanent residents.
◦These SINs have a period of validity corresponding to the date the foreign worker is authorized to work in Canada, which has been granted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
◦If the immigration document is expired, the employer must ask the employee to contact CIC to obtain a valid document before hiring the employee. The employer must also inform the employee to apply with the new immigration document to Service Canada for the SIN record to be updated with the new expiry date.
◦All terms and conditions on the work permit, including authorized dates and locations of work, must be verified for the employer to hire this person.
