It is pushing very close to my visitor status expiring and me and my husband want to send off our app in the next week. How would we go about doing this the best way? If any of you have done this successfully, could you please share your experiences. My husband and I would really appreciate it!

I cant tell you if the Buffalo part will be successful but we passed the sponsorship part without them. I am now going to forward them to Buffalo since I have a client id and Kit id.

If we had waited for the prints to come from the FBI we would have sent our application out almost 3 weeks later.

What did you include in your application as your reasoning for your fbi clearance not included?I just received a response by email saying that my prints were rejected and I waited alittle over three months for that. I plan to include a letter explaining the situation, emails showing my correspondence with the fbi by email throughout the three months, the letter showing the rejection, and a copy of the receipt showing new prints sent off? Do you recommend anything else or different? Thanks!

I am sending the application without the FBI clearance and with my PR application, I enclosed the copies of whatever they sent with the application and explained how and when my first one was rejected after waiting for almost 2months. I put the receipt number of my PR application (so that they can match when I send my certificate in later time) plus our names, address, e-mail address and the phone numbers just in case they want to get in touch with us. I also wrote in the letter that I have my state and the other country's background check certificates that were included in my application. I made sure they know I will be sending the certificate as soon as I receive.

Good luck!! Let us know how things go.

Instead of the document from the FBI I put a piece of paper that I had my husband sign (since they were his prints) that just said

"To Whom it May Concern,

On April 8th I sent my fingerprints via FedEx for assessment by the FBI. As the current response time from them is approximately 12 weeks I will forward the results to the Visa Office upon my receipt of them."

In your case I would just make a similar statement except that I would include that you are having to send a second set and that maybe what you did differently that will make the prints be readable this time- exactly what you indicate you are going to do. I cant say that it is going to work one way or the other but here is to hoping it will!!!

I just got my fbi clearance letter, but am not planning on sending it in till requested. I read on this forum that someone emailed that question of"when do I send it in?" to the cic and they replied to wait till it is requested. Has anyone just sent it in without the request and it been ok? I hate to wait if it's not necessary. ::)

if you HAVE you FBI clearance there is absolutely no reason not to mail it in! Whomever you talked to at CIC was mistaken.

I think if CIC hasn't even opened the envelope with your application and it hasn't been entered in ecas then wait to submit the FBI cert until you have a case number to attach to it. Other then that, yeah I agree to send it before being asked.

That is exactly what I was told by both Buffalo when I emailed them, and a lady from Mississauga when I spoke to her on the phone. I wanted to know how to send the results to Buffalo when I didnt have a case number and Buffalo told me to wait until I was asked for them, and not to contact them again!

Did you get a confirmation letter that they made a file for you? Didn't they enclose a page of stickers with ID numbers on them so you could stick them on the envelope when you send something in? I can see not sending it if you don't have a case number, but if you do I think it will be ok. Any comments?

How did you contact the FBI to ask about the status of your fingerprints? I sent in my fingerprints on April 23rd, and would love to be able to ask someone if they've been accepted or not.

FBI CJIS Division Phone Number: (304)-625-5590

Good luck getting much out of them, though. My prints were recieved May 17th. I've seen people on here get theirs back in 6-7 weeks, and a couples times I was told by one guy on the phone I should get my police certificate in about 6 weeks because it's my 4th time requesting. Lately when I call, they won't even run my name through to check, I just get the standard "10 weeks". *sigh* You'd think they would at least check for me?

I was supposed to mail my application in January. Now I'm so so so sick of waiting for just my fingerprints, not even the actual application, for 8 MONTHS. I'm submitting my application in a couple weeks without them.

I have my 2 police certificates from 2 states I've lived in. I have an e-mail from an FBI person detailing my rejections. I have a police certificate from a year ago I think. I'm going to send all that in and hope for the best, I suppose. I don't however have a receipt or copy of proof I sent in my fingerprints, not even a rejection notice because I sent that in to the FBI. Do you think that will cause problems?

I think you are right about getting a certificate after rejected 3 times. I was at the fingerprinting place and the tech guy told me the same thing. So hopefully soon within several weeks you will have a long waited certificate!

Since the certificate for each state is not required at this point I doubt there will be a problem even its one year old. All they can do is to ask you do redo it if they want it. I know its a pain but the states does have a shorter turn around time so.

I am sending a rejection letter from the FBI with my PR application..I have no proof of another prints being sent or anything except for that rejection letter and the letter I wrote explaining why I do not have the certificate. However, I have enclosed the state and Japanese certifiates with my PR since I have them (and wouldn't want to redo them! ???).

Good luck!! Let us know when you get the certifcate!

I will most definitely post on the forum when I recieve my FBI certificate. I got these prints (3 sets sent) done at an actual crime lab by a guy who gives lectures to police and such how to fingerprint!!! I will be shocked beyond belief if these are rejected. Then we might just have to try to get him into the US... this is just crazy :-\

Thank you for the well wishes :)
