How to renew Postgraduate Work Permit with new passports

Hello everyone,

I graduated from a full-time 2 year college program, so I think my postgraduate work permit is for a maximum of three years. Actually, I got it initially issued till my passport expire date (17 months).

Now that I got my passport renewed, how to apply in order to get a new permit for the remaining time (19 months maximum). Can I apply online?

Also, all my family members has been with me since I was an international student, and their permits expire same date as mine. Can I renew theirs as well?

A PGWP is a one time offer and can not be renewed or extended. You should have had your passport renewed before you applied for your PGWP.

one of my friend had the same situation. he got the remaining PGWP after the new passport.

I hope that is correct! I already renewed mine (with two years left to go) for the 3 year study permit I needed and I would like to not have to renew again with two years to go, to get the 3 years of PGWP when it's time for that.

If others who have gone through this can confirm that this can be done, please step forward and post.

After contacting the call centre, I got email with instructions for a PGWP extension. This apply to workers (former students) whose passports expire before the length of time they are entitled to work. In other words, if your program allows you to work for three years and your passport expires before that, you are allowed to apply on-line for an extension upon renewing your passport (remaining duration)
