How or what are the steps to order Canada Border Service Agency CBSA entries and exits record/ report?
Either Act works. You have to pay $5 for ATIA, Privacy Act is free. Privacy Act is only for information directly related to you, whereas ATIA requests can be broader and are often used by journalists, lawyers or government watchdogs.osamaamany said:Here I am confused, It asks "Please select the act under which you are submitting the request" 1. Access to information act 2. Privacy Act ?? which one I should select? I guess Access to Information act. right?
Then it asks, " which type of records do you wish to request"? 1. Case file 2. Corporate records. So which one to select?
CBSA now records land border crossing exits to the US...actually CBP records the entries and shares the data with CBSA where such an entry into the US equals an exit from Canada. Canadian citizens and US citizens data not yet collected everyone else has their info with the Feds either side of the 49th!Lorris said:You realize you can't get a list of exits, don't you? Entries only, and likely not full anyway.
They may share data, but if it's not released on my CBSA report (and it's not there), chances are CIC won't get it either. Besides US is just one destination. What if I am on trip to Europe? Thus generally CBSA doesn't have a list of exits.Msafiri said:CBSA now records land border crossing exits to the US...actually CBP records the entries and shares the data with CBSA where such an entry into the US equals an exit from Canada. 1. Border crossing data sharing is with the US but this will inevitably be expanded. Refugee claimants data including fingerprints are shared between Canada and 4 other countries...all those asylum shopping be ware! CBSA all have access to flight manifests both in and out so if they want to find someone they can!Lorris said:They may share data, but if it's not released on my CBSA report (and it's not there), chances are CIC won't get it either. Please select the Department where you would like to submit an Access to Information or Privacy request.
should I choose :
1. CBSA or
2. CIC
Thank you for your explanation. WHat about the question when it says : " which type of records do you wish to request"? 1. Case file 2. Corporate records.
