how to notify change of address - without file number

Hi,

I posted my cananda PR application form on May 2008 via Buffalo, NY.
Still i did not got my file number. Now i moved to new appartment. I would like to notify my change of address to Canada Embassy at Buffalo , NY.

Can anybody inform me what forms i need to submit to Canada Embassy regarding to notify the change of address without having the file number.

Do you have a copy of the receipt for your immigration fees? You can use the receipt number.

I dont have any receipt for the immigration fees. Iam did not get any letter from the canada embassy.

Can anyone please tell me about how to notify my change of address to Canada Embassy at Buffalo , NY without having the filenumber.

USPS will forward all mails that belongs your old address to your new address for one year. If you change your address on line then USPS charge you $1. The $1 is only a one time fee.

Hi Leon,

Typically how long does it take to get a recipt for immigration fees? I had submitted my application in August 2008 and the Bankers Cheque was valid till October 20th 2008. I still have not got any recipt or any confirmation from the Buffalo office.

I don't know if there is an actual form but if you write your name, old address, new address and birthdate, maybe nationality and passport number as well, I am sure they can not possibly confuse you with anybody else.
