Hi All,

I received PPR last week. However, I haven't been able to find any courier service (USPS, FedEx,UPS), which provides International prepaid shipping label, that can be used to get passport back after stamping at Ottawa.

Can anyone help here. How did you send passport to Ottawa center. There is no VFS services for folks living in USA, to manage this part of Express Entry.

Thanks.

Dinesh

Hi Dinesh!

So I had the same issue when I got PPR sometime back. I was able to use UPS to get an international prepaid shipping label.

The issue here is that UPS/ Fedex donot have clear information on their websites. What you essentially need is a return shipping label (that is what they call it). To get one you need to have an account with Fedex/ UPS which is free. Again the information is not clear on their websites. But an account is not just signing up for email. You have to go under your profile section once you have created a login and add a credit card to get a account number. I believe 8 digit alphanumeric for UPS. Once you have that that is when you will be able to create a return shipping label.

For UPS you can select the option print label to be able to print the label at home. Also UPS customer service is quite helpful. I have called them and after selecting you need to ship a package just keep saying operator and it will get you to a real person.

A word of caution from my errors. I put the price of items in the package as $250 considering that is what i would spend if I have to get a new passport done. But that is not the right way to do it since Canadian Customs will flag it since anything over $20 Canadian needs an importer. So put the value of the items in the package as $1 or $0 if it will allow you to do it.

Secondly just so that you are aware. I have not received my passports back yet. They are still at CIC so I cannot be a 100% sure that I did it the rightway just yet. But I have a friend who received a PPR a week before me and he got his passport back yesterday.

Hope this is helpful and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Very helpful indeed Pryda31. I just went through this same process and received my passports back a few days ago. I did the UPS account creation online and printed the return shipping label. I put cost of items as $0 and sent the passports, photos, Annex A from the PPR email and print out of the return shipping label to Ottawa. All went well. Hope you get yours back soon inspite of the hiccup with the value that you placed on it.

Same boat as you. My passport is expected to be delivered today. What I did was create a FedEx account (free) and send them a blank FedEx shipping label with that account number. You might want to send them using the same account so that you know it works :)

I saw that you have to mail it to a PO Box address. In the past I was told by fedex that they don't deliver to PO boxes. You guys didn't have any problem sending it to a PO Box using UPS?

Got my passport today, funny that the day of issue in visa is 18 September... What were they doing all this time?

Also, I remember reading that I can enter before the medical expires... The visa actually expires next year November

Hi guys very helpful information here so thank you
I have created a FedEx account but I don't know how to proceed from here so please advise? How do I create the return label and then what should I do with it?
Is there a FedEx option to have passports delivered back and forth sooner?

And how long did it take you to have passports sent back since you sent them out?

Please advise
Thnx

Make sure you link your credit card in it.

Then, go to the FedEx store and ask them for a shipping label. Mention the sender and receiver detail and check the bill to receiver and provide your FedEx account number.

I have not done the CA to USA process. I did it locally for my indian passport to the SFO consulate. Worked like a charm.

Also, you can select the speed of the delivery method on the shipping label. Overnight, 2 day and weekend or weekday delivery are multiple options available!
