apply online. upload a copy of a passport photo (uk size), complete the forms and nominate someone who can verify your identity (must be a doctor, a lawyer, a police officer etc etc) and then it gets mailed to you.

Check the acro list. It says all the people eligible. I used a friend of mine in oz who is a nurse. Lawyer should be fine.

thanks :)

My husband had to get a police certificate from the UK as well. We filled out the paper application and mailed it to them. Although it would probably be easier for you to do it online since you are not currently in the UK. As for the endorser it can be anyone from the list of suitable occupations, or anyone with a "similar" occupation. But they have to have known you for at least 2 years and can't be a family member. Your lawyer friend would be fine as long as they have known you for the requested amount of time. My husband used our best friend who is an early childhood education worker, similar to teacher. They never contacted her though and we got the certificate within a week.

thanks a lot :) now everything is clear for me :)

Hi Bunny,

If both me and wife are applying for Canada PR, should we get UK police clearance certificate for both of us?

Did you both live in the UK?

Whatvroutecare you applying for PR through?

The guide relevant to your application(s) state who has to submit police certificates and from which country (dependent on when you lived there and for how long).

You should post in the EE section of the forum. This section is for Canadian citizens/PRs sponsoring their family members.
