How to get a visitor record, is it necessary to apply OHIP?

I work in Canada. My son came to Canada and lives with me.

I want to apply OHIP for him, but was told a visitor record was needed for that.

How can i get a visitor record for my son, he is in Canada now, and just got a stamp in his passport.

Not clear what status your son has in Canada does he have PR status or just a visitor ?

I think OIHP is not applicable to visitors. This is for citizens and immigrant .
