I know I don't need to fill out this form, but I'm going to a notary public today, so why not.

"solemnly declare that we have cohabited in a conjugal relationship for ______ continuous year(s) from date to date"

We lived together for 20 months, then away from each other for 6 months and now we have lived together for 3 months again.

So should I say 1.5 years. And then put date from 2013-09 to 2015-04.
Which implies we are not living together anymore...

Or put 2.5 years and 2013-09 to present . Even though we were away from each other.

If you have lived together then you can't apply conjugal, so no point in filling out the form. You will apply as common law.

Are you aware of which form I'm talking about?
It's called IMM5409 Statutory declaration of common-law union

I imagine they just chose to phrase that particular sentence as conjugal.
But the form is definitely about declaring your common-law relationship.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Fully aware of the form . Sponsor forms: #5 Original of completed Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union IMM5409 (only needed ) if you have a co signer and he or she is your common law partner.

I honestly can't see the point of filling in forms that is not required but if it pleases you !

Ok, just confused by your reply about applying conjugal vs common-law.

I have read several threads about this form.
And 50% of the people say, do it, even if you don't need to. The other camp says like you, don't do it.
Reason being is that, sometimes CIC will later ask you to send in this form, even though it's not necessary.

I just go by the recommendations by posters on this forum.
