yes AAA is the automobile club. Anyone can obtain a record from AAA. I initially tried to get my record from the driver licencing place , but they directed me to AAA, or to get it online. I believe AAA should be able to get records from any state so long you provide them with licence number and SSN. They will ask if you want a 3,10 year or complete(i believe this one costs more).rhcohen2014 said:when you say AAA, you mean the automobile club, correct? were you able to obtain a record from AAA because you were a member, or is this something they will do for anyone?
i do have a membership and am running into an issue getting a record from MA since i transferred my license to another state, and am not a resident of MA anymore. will AAA be able to help me get a full report from all states i've lived in?
Yes IRE is only shared among the licencing bodies, and authorized organizations. However the information is the same as you get when you order a driving history through AAA.Surfing said:Is the IRE record only open for organization? Can individual apply it in advance and submit it in exchange license application?
If my IRE record can show up, then I guess I don't need to provide any other supporting documents such as AAA driving records. Is that right?
omg, thank you for this information! this will be a great backup if what i have doesn't work!chipolopolo said:yes AAA is the automobile club. Anyone can obtain a record from AAA. http://www.aaacredit.net/index.html also seems to be offering driver history records. Is this the one being discussed here or are we discussing getting it from http://www.aaa.com?
yes you can. I landed on 30th november and am still waiting for my PR card..I got exchanged my licence 2 days after i landed. what state are you from? Look up my earlier post on page one, and see if the us state licence you hold allows ontario to view your history, otherwise you will have to order it through www.AAA.com or follow instructions on your state DMV website on how to obtain drivers history.annoying said:Hi,
If I am in a permanent resident status now but haven't got my PR card, can I exchange my US driver's license to an Ontario driver's license?
how did you orders your through AAA? when I go to the website, I can't find anywhere that suggests I can do this, and when I search for "Driver history", nothing of value pulls up. do I have to call to do this?chipolopolo said:yes you can. N.B ontario only accepts original copy of the record

I`ve been licensed in CT, CA and MA. My current license is from CT, however it was re-issued last year when i transferred it from MA, so I don`t think it would transfer to a full license. I have a print out from the CT DMV showing my original license information in the state, dating back to 1994. it also shows when that license expired. I am not even sure if service ontario will accept what i have. I am having a problem getting my MA record because i`m no longer a residence and can`t change my address online. I haven`t even attempted CA. i`m going to attempt a go at it with what i have and see what happens. worst case, i`ll have to drive to the border and find a AAA there. at least i now know it`s an option.chipolopolo said:\
I did mine before i left the usa from an AAA location. You have to do it in person. Only other way you can get a copy that is an original is if you mail a request to your state DMV. What state is your licence from? depending on the state you may not need to order a driving record, and ontario would be able to check your record online when you go to exchange
Hi there. Service ontario does not exchange licences. They only renew, and also issue or renew health cards. In order to exchange you will have to find an actual driver test and examination center. I did mine in brampton. The location is listed here http://peel.cioc.ca/record/BRA1441annoying said:Hi Chipolopolo,
I am from MA and just landed on Dec 6th. Could you please advise me which service ontario you went to?
Wouldn't that make you flagged to pay the state income tax? (Just wondering...) I live in CA, and I feel I need to get rid of my CA drivers license...keesio said:Last year I was actually able to get my driving record online from dmv.ny.gov for a small sum ($7) - they gave me a PDF copy to download and mailed a hard copy to my NY address (relatives). So looks like getting my driving record online is not an issue. My current DL was issued in 2008.
The reason why I still am reluctant to change it over is because I actually need to drive in the US, where as I don't drive at all here. When I visit family in the US, I need to drive there (and I'm still listed as a driver on the insurance for one of the cars). I figure it makes more sense to keep my US license instead of swapping for a Canadian one
