I have the file number for my study permit application which is currently in process at CHC ISB. I tried to track the application on CiC website (Client Application Status) using my file number but it doesnt give me any information. Is there anyone who was able to track his/her application through CiC website? I know you can track the immigration applications but not sure if its possible to do the same for study permit applications.

First of all, you can not check your application status online for your study permit. However, you can drop a case specific enquiry about your application status. Administrative staff will let you know if a decision has been taken yet or your file is in queued for review. It will take some days for them to get back to you.

I don't know when did you get your meds done? Can you tell us about it?

I can give you my previous timeline so that you can get a rough idea out of it.

I did my meds on nov 24 2010, passport sent same day. Visa officer sent me a refusal letter with his hand written notes. 17 December 2010 was printed on it. I got passport in my hands on dec 23,2010 since I live in Karachi.

PS: Please vote me up if you think you found my reply helpful and informative. :D

Why dont you all just study in Pakistani Universities, there are many good ones there. There is no point going through all that trouble to come here. Is it really worth it? I'd suggest forget that and stay in Dil Dil pakistan

It is a free world. Everyone is free to go wherever they want. cad universities are not providing free edu. Also, students have other ulterior motives as well

LOL!! I am forced to agree with you newtone. I am from the UK and for me the ultimate question when it comes to loyalty to a country is the cricket question. If a Pakistani migrates to say Canada and there is a cricket match between canada and pakistan he will always support Pakistan, because at the end of the day Pakistani's (whether born or descendants) will always support Pakistan even if they live and work in or live off other tax payers money in another country.

I think what it really boils down to is that fact that Pakistanis are there only for names sake. The can never be loyal to their country. If you study the history of people of this region since the time of Alexander every invader has literally walked over their land to settled elsewhere. Their final destination was either India, China or the far east, so people from this nation are always on the move. Yes you can make cliche statements like its a free world and we have choices but the truth is Pakistanis themselves know their choices are very limited. Democracy is not possible in this country, it never was, Muslims are unsafe their mosques, leaders who would like to bring about secular ideologies/change are murdered (i.e Salman Taseer, shahbaz bhatti etc), I am not even going to start on corruption, they lost Bangladesh in 1971 due to their arrogance ironically Bangladesh went on to becoming a democratic country. So in a nutshell Pakistanis possibly cannot be loyal cause they are constantly fighting among themselves. Well enough of history, its boring anyway. Back to our original topic about checking status on study permit online.......anyone have an answer?

most pakistanis peruse their bachelors in Pakistan. They go for masters elsewhere. What about Indians? Their country is democratic and high quality of education is there. What about china? Chinese and Indian students are in hordes in developed countries. I do not buy your logic. Muhammad said during his time for education if u had to go for china you must go there. Pakistan became a nuclear state because Pakistani scientists got higher quality of education abroad

Btw, madarsa also charge some money. Only toilet paper comes free. What about Germany? German universities are not madarsas. The fact of matter is, only money rules in western world. Look how Iraq and Libya have been invaded for oil.

Yes, Pakistan is a backward country . Yes, pakistanis are not loyal. What about the rest of the world? People go through body scanners , strip searched, people private conversTions are recorded. Muslim mosques are searched by CIA agents. Holy Quran is burned by a pastor . No family system . This is what you call freedom and democracy.

These comments above make me furious. I don't care if one is patriotic or not. Just keep it to yourself. This forum is not meant to discuss crap like this. We are here only to share information about the application process. If you want to discuss political subjects then I am afraid you are at a wrong place or perhaps you have too much free time. Anyway, thanks for sharing the info that we cannot track study permit application. Yes, it was helpful. I appreciate your response. I've had med done already. A very reliable source from CiC told me today that CHC ISB has quite a backlog of study permit applications so we should expect at least 9 weeks processing time. It could be more.

Thanks. I would love to know the parentage of above posters? I'm sure their parents have immigrated to USA and Canada from third world countries like India and Pakistan? Lion heart, I really appreciate your response.

Well, lets not care about parentage of others and its better we dont lose the focus. Some people are here just to waste others time but we need to get this right by not talking about irrelevant things and not getting into useless arguments.

You are a sensible person. I really appreciate your maturity . Why do you think there is a backlog of applications? Lack of staff?
