Hello everyone, could you please help me how we can bring money to Canada in our first landing? I don't want to bring alot of cash then have to declare and I think it does not safe. Is that any recommendation?
If I send my money to my Canadian bank account before landing and get their bank confirmation as a proof of fund for the checking at port of entry is that fine? It will be different with the proof of fund when first submitted in the PR application (as under my home country bank account).
=> Is that possible in this way and I will bring a little cash like CAD2,000 and visa card, and a Canadian bank confirmation?
How you brought your money please help?
Thank you so much for your help

If we are not talking about millions in a sports bag, you can bring as much as you want, declaring doesn't pose any risk for you.

Depending on what country you are from, you maybe eligible to open a bank account and transfer large funds into it. I did it with 4 banks before I landed. I activated those accounts by visiting the bank.

Carry enough cash to help you through the time you can open/activate your Canadian bank account. You can bring upto $10k cash without needing to declare it.

So you open a canada bank account before landing? what do you use for providing proof of fund at the entry border? does the digital bank statement of the canadian bank is enough? (although it is different with the proof of fund when you submitted your application)? thank you for your help

Declaring is not complicated. You just declare at an airport kiosk or eGate how much you bring. And no question asked about it.

Declaring can get complicated though. For example, a customs officer can ask you to prove that this money has been earned rightfully. Best to avoid, especially when you are coming to Canada for the first time :)
