how to apply for PR

hello! i am under the live-in caregiver program. i still have 4 months to go to complete the 24 months required to be able to apply for the open permit or the PR. but as early as now i am inquiring or needing your help as to how to apply for the PR or open permit. what papers are needed to submit or how to go about it. i have really no idea. hope anyone out there can help and give me the info. thank you so much

This is what I got from CIC website:

9.2. Applications
Applicants complete the In-Canada Application for Permanent Resident Status for Live-in
Caregivers (forms IMM 5002E and IMM 5282E). The kit can be requested through the Call
Centre, or downloaded from the CIC Internet site.
Applicants must list all family members in Canada and abroad, and indicate which ones they wish
to have processed concurrently for permanent residence.
Applicants submit the completed forms with fee receipts and all required supporting documents to
CPC-V.
CPC-V staff screen the application for completeness and verify:
• that all required forms are completed and signed as per Immigration Guide IMM 5290E;
• that evidence of payment of applicable processing fees at designated financial institution exists;
• that two passport-sized photographs of applicant and of family members in Canada are included;
• that all required documents are included as per Document Checklist IMM 5282E, including proof of
two years of employment.
The application is considered made on the date the completed application, correct fees and
supporting documentation are received by CPC-V.

we're on the same boat kabayan. Mag-aapply na din ako ng PR ko by October or November this year. And as I go through the documents, nalilito na ako. Parang napakaraming gagawin, nakakatakot, pero kailangang gawin. Mabuti na lang merong forum na ganito at may mga gaya ni job-seeker na handang magbigay sa atin ng advice kung ano ang mga dapat gawin. We could probably update each other about sa application natin since magkakasabay tayo ng PR. Come to think of it, umuwi din ako last December and renewed my passport too, what a coincidence di ba?

hi loida86. oo nga thank you at meron itong forum. nong nabasa ko nga reply ni job_seeker at nakita ko yong links nabigla ako ang dami palang kailangan gawin. hindi pa nga ako nag start mag prepare ng mga dapat gawin akala ko madali nalang. anyways, keep in touch at as in wala ako idea pano ko magawa mga yon. natulala ako bigla.

Call CIC,there's an option there where in you can request for the documents..you can request as many as u can...they will just send u the docs thru mail...pwede na kyo request ahead of time para makita nyo na kakailanganin nyo..or just follow job seeker's link and you can print them.

yup yung mga requirements na magmumula sa pinas try nyo ng ayusin habang maaga, like birth cert, marriage cert, ako eto awa ng diyos magpapass na ako sa august 2or 3, kya natin yan isipin mo lang na madali and everything goes well,

kabayan, kailangan ba natin ang mga original copies for submission sa CIC? or photocopies should be enough? By october pa ako magppasa ng application ko, and i am thinking nga kung dapat kong i-extend ang work permit ko kasi mag-expire sya ng January 2011. According kasi sa guideline, kung same employer u dont need to extend ur permit, pero as it is, too slow ang processing ngayon sa mga application. 7-8 months bago lumabas ang OWP. Nag renew ka pa ba ng work permit mo? Thanks!

@rosellyalung -- oo nga eh, slowly gathering pertinent documents na ako, kaya langg medyo complicated pa yung sa akin kasi nag file ako ng divorce dito, so maghintay pa ako ng decision dun, kaya di ko alam nga kung ano ang ilagay ko na status sa pag apply ng OWP at PR. Pero siguro ill leave it blank and attach a note that d divorce petition is under proceeding. And a letter from lawyer certifying that there is indeed a divorce petition going on. Magastos pero walng choice eh.

Itanong ko lang, kasi just now, nabasa ko sa document checklist na yung passport issue and expiry, entry and exit stamps, visas for Canada and any other countries ay kasama sa checklist. Ibig bang sabihin pati yung old passports na may mga entry and exit stamps a few years ago like nung working pa ako sa HK kasama din? or yung most recently lang? Sensya na dami kong tanong, nakakalito talaga habang binabasa ko ang mga form. More power to us !!

@loida- yun ang di ko sure, kc eto lang ang passport ginamit ko pero lahat ng pages na may laman phinotocopy ko ayun, pero sama mu na rn para alam nila , eh nandun na rin lang ang original na old passport mo di b? yup tama gagawin mo maglagay k ng note and sabi nga wag ka daw mag iiwan ng blank sa application baka ibalik kung ano daw lagyan ng N/A or a note para alam nila di b?

hi sa mga kabayan ko, esp sa mga kapwa live-in caregivers na nag-aapply at nkapag-apply na ng PR at OWP, eto n nmn ako at magtatanong n nmn, since ang gagamitin ko ay yung option 1 (24 months of full-time employment), mag-aapply na ako next month na, dahil nabasa ko kailan lng dito sa forum na, from 7-8 months, naging 8-9 months na ang pag-process ng mga application.. super tagal na pala ngayon before magkaroon ng linaw ang ating minimithing landed status, ibig sabihn hindi pa tayo makakahinga ng maluwag habang wala yan..hayyy. anyways, ito po ang aking katanungan, kasi isa sa hinihingi sa document cheklist ay yung PRINTOUT FROM YOUR DATE OF ENTRY INTO THE LIVE-IN CAREGIVER PROGRAM. Dumating ako dito sa Canada ng March 2008, pro hindi ako nag-start magwork agad sa employer ko, bakante ako from MArch to July.. nakapagsimula lang ako ay August na, so ano po ba ang dapat kong ilagay o sabihn na start ko ng pagpasok sa program na ito? Pwede na ba akong tumwag ngayon sa CRA pra makakuha ng document na ito kahit na sa first week pa ng September ako mag-24 months? Gaano b katagal bago nila maipadala yun?

Salamat po muli sa pagbibigay pansin sa aking katanungan.. Pagpalain nawa tayong lahat ng Poong Maykapal.

Ang ilagay mo yung date na dumating ka dito..ung date na tumapak ang mga paa mo s canada...that's what I did,same ang case natin dumating ako may pero start ako ng july..di naman sila ask about that...

thank you lai1279 and rosellyalung.. itanong ko lang din, kasi bale nagrenew kmi ng contract ng amo ko, pro prang verbal na lng at ala na kming new contract na pinirmahan pa, pro sabi nya kung kailangan daw nmn ay gagawa kmi. so bale ba kahit na ang ipasa ko na lang na contract ay yung previous nming contract na inaprubahan ng HRSDSC noong bago ako dumating dito? hndi na ba kakailanganin ang bagong kontrata?
