How to answer -- have you ever applied for PR?

I had PR status as a dependent of my father a few years ago. I couldn't make the requisite days to keep it due to personal reasons, and hence I lost it. Now I am applying through EE again.

There is a question on the e-APR that states:

Have you applied for Permanent Residency before?

I am confused about how to answer it, as I never applied by myself but got it through my father. If I say yes, then do you know where to find the "PR File Number" that is asks for? I do have the landing document and the expired visa on my passport.

IMO you need to answer an 'Yes' to that question. It dosen't matter who applied (on your behalf, father, parent etc) point is there is an application in your name in CIC and have been allotted a File/PR Number.

Quote that No. and do write an LoE to clarify the situation.
