How old can my Financial Statement can be?

Hi,
I am in the process of collecting my documents for ITA and I am having a problem with figuring out when to get my bank statement. I am supposed to submit the documents by Dec 31. So when should I get my statement?

On December 30th if possible along with other documents,the latest the better provided that it is stable in last 6 months.
