How much time for PCC from PSK India - please help

Dear All,

If my permanent address is same as passport. And police verification was done in 2014 while reissuing of my passport.

In this case how much time will it take to get a pcc. Will there be a police verification again?

Please help since I'll be taking an off from office to go my hometown to get it done.

you should get it the same day, however, since it has been 3 years since the last verification, PSK may go in for another verification.
I got mine the same day inspite of an address change within the same city/police station coverage area, but this was within 1 year of passport issuance.

maximum time is 15 days as per the policeman told me who came for verification last year. I applied again last month since old PCC wasn't valid anymore and I got it on the same day within half hour.

Mine has been more than one year since Iast verification. But was given PCC on the spot.

I would suggest to carry atleast 2 ID proofs of the current address if the current address if different from that on the passport.

It is a bit strange with PSK office, I took the PCC recently and officer told me that the verification they do is valid for a year and they keep the record for 3 years. If your passport verification is happened within the 3 years period then it is most likely that you get it on the same day. Otherwise it will be approximately 15 days. Normally from PSK they send the request to City commissioner of police immediately but it will reach the respective police station in 4 days (same 4 days for the report to reach from police station to Commissioner office). This information was provided by the police man who did the verification for me.So, 8 Calendar days is minimum + the availability of the police man. Average time would be 15 days and this varies for different region.

Another important note, you mentioned that your hometown and office are different location. This would be a problem, recently I heard a case from my company similar to you, for him the PSK officer rejected the request and asked him to apply from where he is working. If you want to get it legally, then arrange address proof for your current location and apply for PCC.

Thank you so much for the reply. I will try from my current city. Unfortunately, I just have a rent agreement. As I shifted to my new address 3 months back, I dont think they will accept airtel post paid bill. I read somewhere that bills need to be of current cycle and 1 year old as well. HDFC and ICICI do not issue photo pass book. Phew!, PCC is so troublesome for people like us who are on the move. Please pray for me when I go to the PSK.

I mentioned about a case where the PSK officer sent the applicant back. The bangalore case might be overlooked by the PSK officer. It is completely upto you whether you want to give a try. Creating a bank account is easier, you can ask your employer to provide Address proof. PSK will also accept the address proof from many companies

Bank account - one needs photo pass book only. Employer based certificate is only recognized from PSU.

I dont see any problem getting pcc from my permanent address. But I'm just concerned it is not a case of rejection by CIC.

Please advise.
