Have read different things about how much cash you need to show for the Cic to be happy
when you apply. Last thing I heard was 10 000 extra per semester or year, which seems excessive...

Also, whats everyone paying as tuition fee for a year of studies or a semester?

Thanks

$10K for first year living expenses + travel expenses is what you need to show in addition to first year tuition fees.

Hi,
you should show around 10,000 cad ,which is generally the cost of your first year(house, food, books etc) and in the semester fees, the books are not included.

Is that to show I can pay for a ticket home, or do I need to show that as well?

You should show an additional $1K to $3K for travel expenses (in addition to the $10K and the money to cover first year tuition).

I want to inquire if a master's student has gotten admission with "full-funding" into a research based masters with tuition fee of $15,000CAD and funding of $26,000 for two years.
It is obvious that such a student will have $10~11000CAD left with him/her for living expenses throughout the year.

In this case, is such a student still compelled to show the minimum of $10,000CAD for his upkeep in canada?

Must such a student submit a statement of account and if he does not, will it be regarded as "insufficient funds"?

altogether 1 year tution fees and living expense ... lets say you have paid 1 sem then 2nd semester in your bank account or education loan + 10000$ for living expense .

thanks

Master's Degree could run to a good $CAD 50K
Almost $CAD 27K for the first year

so you need to cover that bit first
all in all you will be billed for the first 2 semesters by your university before applying to CIC and using their Approval letter
remember , If CIC doesn't buy any of the info presented you are declined
