Agreed with scylla. You get 21 points.

22 points are for those who have 2 or more post-secondary degrees/diplomas e.g. Bachelors degree + post graduate diploma.

Read the note for 23 points more carefully. It refers to a "entry-to-practice professional degree" NOT professional degree.

Agreed with all of the above. You will definitely get 21 points. You do not meet the criteria for either 22 or 23 points.

Mate do u think that my one year foundation degree from uk would be counted as one degree the other one being the bachelors degree..As i did 1 year foundation degree for engineering and then i was enrolled for the bachelors degree..

Hi,

But I have encountered a unique problem.

Today, I received my WES evaluation report.

In my WES application, I had mentioned 2 credentials : 1) Bachelor's degree, 2) PGDM(Executive, full-time 1 year). The total fee I paid was 299 CAD, assuming this includes fee for evaluating both credentials. However, the report which I received today has the following info:

1) The Canadian equivalence for PGDM(Executive, full-time 1 year) is written as "second undergraduate major"

How is it possible? When it is clearly a "POSTGRADUATE" Diploma, how have they categorized it as "undergraduate major" ?

2) Even though the report has listed both the credentials, its final outcome mentions ONLY Bachelor's degree. ???

This would have a huge negative impact on my points. Friends, please advise me what to do. Completely confused. :(

Would appreciate URGENT reply.

No - your foundation year will definitely not be counted as one degree. It's just one year of schooling that leads to a degree - it's not an actual degree. You would have to take a second bachelor degree or a masters to have two degrees.

Hi Scylla,

Would appreciate your reply on the issue I have posted above (regarding WES evaluation of my POSTGRADUATE Diploma as "UNDERGRADUATE MAJOR").

Thanks

To answer that, I need to know what credential you earned prior to your foundation degree?
In my opinion if you are a native and bypassed the A level route then it probably wont be counted separately. If on the other hand you are/were an international student then you must have had your HSSC prior to enrolment into foundation degree. In that case, the foundation degree will probably be counted as a perpetrate credential. However please remember that WES has the final word on this one.

Now note i have got both degrees with me , now when i send documents to WES i will send transcripts and degree to WES but what abt the foundation degree do i have to ask for transcripts for that too from City College Manchester or just degree certificate will do ?

Dear utom1987, mind your selection of words because scylla here is a lady and a very experienced member. Whatever she says is backed by her extensive experience and that is the basis of here rightfully earned confidence. If you read more carefully; in that link a, "post secondary degree" actually refers to Bachelors degree.

Just today I got message from one of the members from India who got his Bachelors degree and a 1 year PGDM. His credentials have been communicated as equivalent to one Canadian Bachelors degree by WES. The PGD has been considered equivalent to additional major subject of Bachelors degree. So he gets 21 points.

I told you earlier that the final word on your credentials will come from WES. So you are advised to proceed with your ECA process asap rather than arguing. Its outcome will decide the points 21 or 22.

Best of luck
