How long will get the FN?

My attorney submitted my documents (I sponsor my husband) in the middle of March, but still no response.
Anyone got the FN or still waiting? and how long will get the FN ?

What is fn? Do you mean SA- sponsorship approval? Some march applicants are still waiting. It seems CIC is finishing up march this week. What date was your application received?

yes， FN means file number (sponsor's approval)
my attorney didn't told me the date they received my application...

by the way, do you applied inland or outland? I applied in new york city, but my attorney said my application will transfer to new york office not ottawa office...I 'm so confused...

I think only permanent resident would have an UCI...and my attorney said what i should do is to waiting for the file number for tracking my case status, that usually will take 2 months....

They send a UCI with the Sponsor Approval email. Also in that email will be the Application reference number. UCI is nominally for the sponsor (CDN Citizen/ Resident) to see confirmation of SA / address changes, general info, etc.; Application # is for the applicant to see progress on application, make address changes, general info on stages of application process, etc. You will get both numbers in the email, the sponsor & applicant can certainly share the log-ins to see either info trail.

i applied outland. All us outland applicants go through Ottawa unless there are major red flags in the application. NYC does not process PR applications anymore. IF your application gets kicked back to the us, it will be transferred to LA. Since you haven't even received Sponsorship approval yet, i don't understand why your attorney is telling you your application will be transferred back to the states. Until CIC makes thats determiniation inhouse, the attorney can't know that to be true. Why would your attorney say your application won't be going through ottawa? Is the applicant a US citizen?

It sounds like your attorney may be mis advising you, and i would recommend having a serious conversation with him or notifying CIC that you no longer wish to use him as a representative. It's much safer to have ALL communication be sent to the sponsor and applicant. This forum provides better, more current, and truer information than what attorneys seem to...

I checked every information on the cic websites saying that my case will be transferred to ottawa, but i don't know why my attorney insist that it will be transferred to nyc. My husband is just a h1b visa holder who works in the states, not a us citizen.

that might be why then. i am not positive about this, but from what i've read on these threads, the people who have their files transferred are not us citizens, rather people here on work visas. again if it's transferred, it's not going to be nyc... it's going to be LA. It is my understanding NYC no longer processes PR applications.

i checked NYC too since I am in CT. I was on the Immigration website a few weeks ago, and was looking for information about the visa office in NYC. It mentions changes in what the visa office handles, and it does not mention PR applications at all. As for what other cases go to LA, I have no idea. I would suggest searching the forum for LA visa office threads and read through poster histories to get an idea of who goes to LA.
