Are you talking about the RCMP finger print checks?
It took me about 2 weeks for them to snail mail me the certificate as I did an online submission.

It took 6 weeks for me after sending the fees, filled application form and finger print card done at local police station to FBI office. I gave my mailing address as my USA friend address and he got the report in his mail. Then another two days to delivered it to me in Canada.
