How long is USA police clearance valid?

Dear All,
Someone told me the U.S police clearance takes 60 days so it's better to file for clearance certificate now.
I haven't gotten ITA yet so how long are the U.S police clearance valid till?

6 months from date of issue
 
Its valid for 6 months from date of issue but just take a grace period of 1 month and make sure it's not more than 5 months old.

this boy is right.... if u r to end to cliff of validity... some officer can raise ADR

Ask that someone that FBI has implemented a new online process and it hardly takes 4-5 days to get PCC now.

ohh yeah that tooo... so its takes 5 days mahout.. which includes shipping your fingerprints.. I went this route

it says on canada immigration website.. for them the validity is 6 month.. they do no accept PCC older than that

Depends if you are a current resident of the USA, or not.
PCCs from your place of current residence are valid for 6 months.
PCCs from all other countries - must be obtained after you left, but are valid indefinitely.

For the country where you currently live: this police certificate must have been issued no more than 6 months before the date you submit your application.

For any other country from which you need a police certificate: the police certificate must have been issued after the last time you stayed in the country for 6 months or more in a row.

If you have a police certificate that is now expired, include it. We’ll accept it, but an officer may ask for a new one later on.

If you’ve requested police certificates in the past, you can also include copies of the originals in your application."

@Justine62 ... Too much confusion in this thread. Follow what @jes_ON said above. Accurate info.

I would just add that obtaining the FBI IDHS (PCC) doesn't not take 6 months.
For me, it took literally 24h from the day they received fingerprints. Here is the link:

I am an Indian citizen living in USA..I got my Indian PCC done in May and not gone out of USA after May.
I may get ITA in next draw.I want to ask will Indian PCC still be valid as it will be more than 6 months when I wl send it ?

No. Home country PCC needs to be up to date.
