How long is AEO valid

Hi there,

Can anybody please inform me how long is the approved AEO valid and is it necessary that we have to send the documents immediately to CIC once AEO is approved or can i wait for some time and apply before the validity period expires. Yes I do understand that the employer should also be ready to accomodate me if i am not filing immediately but still wanted to confirm the validity period.

The reason I am asking the validity is, my consultant in India said that my one year full time work experience I gained during my student visa in UK is eligible to apply for PR with a job offer. This work experience was a full time work placement which was part of my course as it was sandwich type of course wherein I have employment contract letter, proof of salary, work experience letter received from the employer etc. but now my consultant is saying we cannot file for PR though my employer has submitted AEO approval from HSRDC saying that this work experience may not be counted since it was a part of my course which the consultant mistook it considering it was post study work.

Now the consultant is suggesting me to wait for sometime till i complete my proper one year work experience eventhough my AEO comes in as approved wherein I have already started working and completed six months of my job experience. My consultant is concerned that my visa should not be rejected.

Please can anybody give me a transparent suggestion, I am undergoing lot of frustration since I came back to my country thinking that I can apply thru the above category as promised by the consultant. At the same time the work experience I gained was with a proper duties and responsibilities and it was not a internship sort of and I have worked 40hours per week,
I have proof of tax deducted from my salary, national insurance no. etc.

I would be really greatful to know your replies and suggestions.

Dear RChettiar,

According to me, the 1 year of qualifying exp. is needed at a supervisory level.

If the job you did was a full time job with 40 hours per week, you can of course claim the same.
How you were also studying during your full time job is one thing you need to clearly explain in ur application.

Also, you'll need a detailed Work Reference Letter from your employer mentioning that you were a full time employee there, apart from mentioning the duties & responsibilities etc.

And yes, the AEO will have the validity period on itself.
Normally it is for 4 years from the date of issuance, but still better to check the same on AEO document itself

Thanks for your reply, the college offer says that first year is full time study and second year is full time work placement which is part of my course.

The work experience i got from my employer says that I joined as a F & B assistant from May 2008 till date that is 30th Jan, 2010, and it also states during my full time work placement from Jan., 2009 looking into the capabilities i was given responsibilities at a supervisory level though officially my designation was F & B Assistant, performing the duties and responsibilities as of a Rest. & Bar Supervisor which is explained in detail and it almost 90% matches to responsibilities given in NOC list given for Rest. & Bar Manager. To proove it i have the reference letter from the employer, payslips, appointment letter and other documents.

But my official designation is F & B assistant, the employer was supposed to promote me but since this was one year full time work placement though on a student visa and on completion again I will enrol as a student to pursue MBA and in that case again i will have to be moved for part time job though in the same hotel . I did not pursue MBA and came back to India since my consultant mistook the one year full time work placement as post study work and .said that we can apply for PR under AEO category since i had a permanent job offer but now when we were preparing the check list the consultant has woken up and puzzled whether this work experience can be considered for PR or wait till I complete one year proper work experience

At present I am in India and working for the past six months as Rest. & Bar supervisor.

Will this suffice to move ahead in applying my PR owing to the AEO approval which is expected in a months time.

Long post is fine, at least u cud explain better.

I think, your puzzled consultant needs to be booted out before anything else. He is supposed to ease your doubts, not be puzzled himself.
To make matters the easiest for you, you can wait for another 6 months to complete 1 yr at the current position of Rest & Bar Supervisor.
(You get ur AEO in 1-2 months from now, so practically it is only 4-5 months from then).

And you will also need PCC, IELTS etc. before u file your application to ultilise this waiting time.

Thanks a lot for a transparent suggestion. I can wait for another 6 months, the reason I am worried is that my employer who is offering me a job offer should wait as well. That's the reason I am little worried and wanted to know can I apply immediately once the AEO comes in, considering the one year full time work experience gained when i was a student in UK with reference to what I have stated in my previous post

Dear,

U are fine even with that UK experience, but I strongly feel that you will be better off waiting for another 6 months and filing a clean application.

6 months is not a long time and you anyways to prepare ur application as well.
The Job Offer (for AEO) HAS to be an indeterminate offer of employement.
Also remember that your employer will have to wait till you get your Visa, and that can take anything between 6-12 months.

I was too much under frustration, am really greatful to this forum. I will definitely consider your suggestion waiting for 6months and then applying at the same time try to speak to my employer when the AEO comes in.

To save time, remember to plan in such a way that you have your file ready with all documents including IELTS result, Job Reference Letters, AEO & Job Offer, Bank Statements (yes, they ask for sufficient funds' proof in AEO cases also these days) etc just before you complete 1 year in the current job.

Keep reading the 'updated' instructions regularly

This way your application flies out right after you complete your 1 year in the current job.

I checked the website you have stated but it says no need to show funds if I am applying under arranged employment category. Still you feel that I may have to show funds inspite of having approved AEO then how much CAD should be shown.
