Hi every body,

I am a dutch citizen and my wife is Canadian. We have started the appliction about for months ago and on Jan 30th 2008 my wife recieved a letter saying that her sponsorship application is approved and that all the paperwork will be sent to Berlin for further processing. Does anybody know how long this will take. Or can anybody tell me where i can find out the status of my application? Thank you so much for your help

1. Somewhere between 6 and 13 months, if the application is complete and no interview is required or there are no criminal problems.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp#europe
2. See Ecas, your case may or may not show up. https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ols/ols.do?lang=en

i have tried looking up the status of the application. I used the client id that my wife gave me, and all i saw was the staus of her sponsorship application.

Also i saw online the some people waited only 2 months for their visa. Is that real then?

don't forget the numbers give are an AVERAGE processing time, if one application took 24 months and the other took 4 months the average time shown would be 14 months. Try using your name and DOB and country of birth.

i have tried using my name, but there is no record under my name. I understand it's average, but it's always nice to hear from someone who has had experince with this. :)

Thank you for your fast reply anyways

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If you go to the link posted, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp#europe you will see that it's now between 7 and 16 months, average (50% of cases) 9 months. Add to this in the beginning a month for sponsor approval.

Thanks Leon, I was just wondering if this information is realistic as it was said before that Berlin just doubles everything up to keep people from bugging them. I guess I am just disappointed because my file was requested to go to Buffalo but instead was sent to Berlin, which is quite the difference in time.

Well, nothing much you can do but hope they'll do it fast. German bureaucrats are supposed to be more efficient after all :)
