how long for CPP from India

I am staying in Canada and will be applying for PR. I have to obtain PCC from India. Can someone tell me how long it takes to get a PCC from India. Thanks

If you apply from VFS centers ,Usually it will take 3 to 4 weeks, But it depends ,some people it may take more than 5 weeks(No idea why it so).

Remember that they will keep your passport with them during this process , so plan your submission date accordingly.


-I heard VFS is no more there now , New BLS service has is taken over from 28-Feb-2013.
-I think processing time will be same for VFS or BLS , because they just submit/receive your application to Indian consulates

What if any of my parents can get PCC for me in India and then courier me... Is that would be Ok.

Applying through Consulate is simple process ,
Unless you have some higher contacts in India, In India also normally it will take 1 - 2 weeks and process will be little more complex since you are here.

I suggest you to give try here for 3 weeks.

In my personal opinion, If you have links in Punjab and can get PCC easily, you should go for it. Getting it from here means you give your passport away for 3-4 weeks (normal processing time). And if you are not submitting directly in one of BLS services add the mailing time too.

But if you think it will be hard to get it from India go ahead through CGI in Torornto

Agree with Dimma. Do not waste time and apply at CGI asap. Shortcuts not advisable.
