How long does it take CPP-O to stamp PR visas?

Have you got a confirmation from CPP that your passport was received by them, or you just have the Canada Post confirmation of delivery ?!

I received my PPR on 6th July, sent my PP same day, it was delivered on 10th,, on 12th July I got confirmation that its been received and app is in queue

Hi Bagi,

No I haven't received any acknowledgement for my Passport receipt at Ottawa office. All I have is online Delivery certificate from Canada Post (on their website and also I didn't requested signature on delivery).

Do they really acknowledge all the passports they receive, I doubt.. ?

Please let me know if that is true then how can I approach the Ottawa office to ask them if they received it or not.

Dear Samlogani,

Thank you for this helpful information. As I mentioned before, according to Canada Post my passport was delivered to CPP-Ottawa on July 9 but CPP-Ottawa said they have nothing in my file indication the passport was received. I sent them an email on July 10 that contains the tracking number of the mail package, but they have not replied yet.

Hopefully the passport is not lost .

I think that they did not confirm the reception unless you email them asking for confirmation. You can email them using the following email address: OttPilot-immigration@cic.gc.ca

If you decide to request a confirmation, please inform me about their reply.

I am positive that they had received my PP and yours too. But I dont want to poke them, asking for the acknowledgement. It usually takes 15-20 days to get PP back so lets wait till then and if required then I will contact them.

That's really quick. I think yours was delivered on 8th July, 2013 same as mine. But I can't see my tracker activated.

Mid September probably. I have a wedding to attend in September and if I do flagpolling now I won't receive my PR card in time to be able to come back to Canada. Unless CIC can expedite my card.

I believe you should receive PR card n 30 business days..you can always call 1888 242 2100, and request them to expedite the card processing

I would rather not risk it I guess. People who landed in April just got theirs even though it is regular processing but it is still 40 days over what indiates on the website. As long as my CoPR doesn't expire next month then I will just wait and do the landing.

Ancer0131: Usually the COPR is valid for 6 months, so you can definitely make your landing when returning back to Canada. Or if your vacation is long enough then you can apply for PRTD from the country where you are going (if you dont receive PR card before leaving Canada).

Samlogani: do they really expedite the PR card for the new Permanent Residents.? I am not sure whether they even hear these requests. Someone on this forum had a long discussion on this. Because I also have to go out for vacation in Septembet/October and wondering if there is any way we can get PR card before it regaular processing time which is 67 calendar days on CIC website. :-\

I am not an expert but I believe they may expedite on special request, best thing is to call them and see what they say...

Does anyone know when we can apply for a new SIN? same day we receive COPR?

However, if you check the last two replies, people who landed in April just got their cards.

I tried to call CIC but the wait time was too long. However, it seems like you can expedite the process but I am not sure if it applies to first time PRs. I guess you could always apply for a travel document to get back to Canada.

Anyways, looks like I will be doing my landing when I get back from San Francisco, just to be safe.
