Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Seems like lately a lot of peoples are taking a long time and even expiring before they get them.
I have to admit, that is making me quite nervous for when I actually have to order mine.

How long before mailing off your application did you send off your FBI clearance and state clearance?

Also, when I mail in my state clearance and FBI clearance, would I just include the form they give you so that it is mailed back to your address in Canada? Or how else would you make sure it is returned to your Canadian mailing address?

And would including a prepaid envelope already addressed to my mailing address in Canada possibly make the FBI clearance be sent back faster?

Just trying to broaden my mind to all perspectives of the situation. I apologize if I asked too many questions or if they have already been answered before.

We mailed ours around August 20th and we had it by mid September. We mailed our application Oct 1.

Write your mailing address (in Canada) on the forms, so thats where they will return it to you. Stop stressing Panda... the entire process isn't as awful as you think and everything will work out :)

Thanks diddagirl.

I think about you and your bf every now and then and wonder how you all are doing. I told my bf how much you helped me.
So how is life now?

Things are GREAT thanks! Truly, everything has just worked out perfectly. Now that he finally has a permanent SIN#, my bf was able to get an amazing new job with a great, well respected company so he is thrilled and really things could not be better for us :)

I replied to your post on the immigration forum board as well about organization..let me know!

Mailed November 25/26, they recieved it November 30. Still waiting, 10 weeks later. They processed my payment via credit card on February 4. They told me it will take another 2 weeks roughly. I've had to re-do parts of my application several times waiting for them. I can't possibly begin to express my frustration as the box sits there collecting dust waiting for them to finally send this thing.

Wow nyssa I know I can't feel your pain but I do know that if I was in the same situation that I would be very frustrated and aggravated.
I think they need to be more on the ball again or CIC needs to work with the FBI to make sure deadlines are met. Or too CIC allowing the clearances to be older by the time they are received.

Keep us updated on how things go. I pray that you will receive it soon and that when you send off your app that it is speedy and smooth process. Good luck! :)

Wow really that is so wonderful to hear. I prayed that your application would go good for you and was so glad to see it did and in record time. Tell your bf I said hi.

You all must be so proud of the life you have started together.

Took us around 6 weeks from mailing the fingerprints and getting the Clearance letter within U.S

That is so strange that you guys are waiting so long. It only took us 2 or 3 weeks to get it back. This was back in July, though. Maybe they're bombarded with requests for everyone wanting to get out of the US! :) ha!

Good luck with everything, I'm sure you'll get them soon!

I sent mine out in early Oct and just got it 2 weeks ago.....so 3 months later. I tried to go the the rcmp office to get fingerprints done and they said that becasue I'm not a resident in Canada that they couldn't do it. I had what they asked for in the website, 2 photo ids (passport and driver's license) and they said that I have to go back to the states to get it redone.... :( Trying to find other places to get it done

I sent my fingerprints to the FBI on November 11, 2009 and called on Friday, February 12, 2010 and was told that they had been mailed. So I should get them this week (I hope). So mine took 2 full months but it was over the Christmas holidays which was perhaps a slow time. I called at the 12 week mark and was told that they had gone over the 11 week processing time and therefore had been moved to "top priority" whatever that means! Both times I called they were able to pull up my file right away and give me the status of my 'prints.

Good luck all!

That's odd. I had mine done here in Canada at the local police station, and I'm obviously not a PR, either. Maybe you should ask at your local police station, and not at the RCMP.

I sent for my Indiana State and FBI clearance at the same time (Dec. 1, 2009). The State police came back in 2-3 weeks. But I'm still waiting for the FBI report..... :'(
Feb 10 (last week) my credit card was charged. At least I know it is being processed.
The FBI web pages says it takes 6-8 weeks however the Canadian Immigration web site says it takes 16-18 weeks. :-\ Like you we are waiting for this document just to start the PR process. I moved here (Canada) almost six months ago, never dreaming six months later I would still be waiting for documents just to start the PR process.

Sorry I have been away from the boards, when I am in Canada I rarely have Internet access! Unfortunately I'm no longer visiting.

For those who wanted the update, my FBI clearance came back but it was rejected due to poor fingerprint taking. The police officer which did my fingerprints put stickers over the fingerprint paper and ruined it, making the FBI unable to process it. So over 10 weeks later, I found out I had to do it all over again. Talk about an awful process.

I wish everyone the best of luck, you are all in my prayers!

In my case, I sent to FBI on Dec 18 and got it back on Feb 1st, The immigration office in Buffalo didnt ask me to send it yet, but I guessed they would as I have been in US over 6 months (when I sent the application I had been in US for 4 months). that's why I ordered it in advance just in case they ask and then they asked me after the interview, so I submitted it 1 week later after the interview date.
