How long can I stay with Visitor visa

Hi,
I have received a visitor visa for a year. I can stay for 6 months at a stretch. I want to know how can I stay more than 6 months like 8-9months. Can I move out of Canada and visit nearby country and again enter or should there be a specific gap of leaving and re-entering?

Please guide.

How long you are allowed into Canada is up to the CBSA officer you encounter at the border when you enter. Typically visitors are given six months - but it's quite possible to be given a shorter visit. If you want to stay longer than your allowed stay, you should apply for an extension from within Canada.

Leaving and then attempting to re-enter within a short period of time is risky and can result in refusal.

You can stay for as long as the CBSA officer sees fit. It can be from 1 day to 6 months.

If you try to flag pole then there are several scenarios. Your re-entry can be refused, or you can be given a shorter stay (enough to pack and leave).

CBSA officers do not like "smart people" who try to abuse the rules and behave like if they were living in Canada instead of just visiting.

It is suggested that you stay out of Canada the same amount of time you stayed in. That is, behave like a visitor.

I just validated my visit visa application form but it appeared that i have made couple of mistakes on it, could i make changes on IM5257 form or it will effect the bar codes? ... please help

Make the changes and then re-validate.
