So I'm in a tricky situation and I really need some help.
Here's my current position:
I'm a British Citizen aged 21 and my girlfriend of 4 years is a Canadian Citizen aged 19. We have been together in person 3 times, twice in Canada when I visited and once in England when she came to visit me. I am currently waiting for my IEC invitation (which I have been for a while now) as I am 'in the pool'. My girlfriend and I are not currently married but we plan to get married this year when I go to visit her again. Once we are married we are thinking of going down the Family Sponsorship route so we can finally close the distance and be together like every couple wants to be. We would prefer to apply inland so we can spend the processing time of the application together. I am aware that I would be able to visit Canada if we applied outland (which I understand is a lot quicker) but that is not really an option for us as I'd be unable to work when I visit. I am unsure of whether or not I will be able to go to Canada, get married and stay there until the visa application is complete. If not, why? Is there anything that would stop me in my tracks? We have a huge amount of proof that the relationship is legit but I am still concerned that it may look like a 'marriage of convenience' because of what other people have told me. I have a very long list of questions but this is my main concern. Thank you in advance to anyone who has taken the time to read or/and give me answers to the questions above.
