hi guys!!i will be going home and get marry this coming october.then i will sponsor my husband my question is does he need to get police clearance here in canada as he work here before for more than a year but he is in philipines now?thank u!!
The guide says:
"You and your family members who are 18 years of age and older and are not permanent residents or Canadian citizens must provide:

valid police certificate, or
police clearance, or
record of no information.

These documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six (6) consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.
"
Means you do not need to get police clearance for Canada, they will do the checks themselves. Hope it helps and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

This post is awesome. Thank you very much for the helpful advises Pelipeli.

I'm just a bit confused for the proof of relationship to sponsor. Those are suppose to be part of the supporting documents of the sponsored person according to the guides. But instead it's better to have a separate section/ envelope for that?

Inside the expanding envelope are:
a. The document checklist
b. Cover sheet – which just basically says:
APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE
FAMILY CLASS – SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP
Sponsor:
ABCDEF GHIJK – client ID XXXX-XXXX
Sponsored Spouse:
LMNOP QRSTUV
Please find herewith the following application forms and documents organized as follows:
Envelope 1- Sponsor forms and supporting documents
Envelope 2- Sponsored person's forms and supporting documents
Envelope 3- Proof of genuine relationship
Just wondering where we get a Client ID? Neither of us have made contact with CIC before so neither of us have an ID...

You only get a client ID if you had apply for a visa before, like a visitor visa, student etc.
If you don't have one right one, you will get one when you will submit your application.

For those of you who have submitted your applications using this 3 envelope method - did you attach any photos to form IMM5285 (Spouse Questionnaire) or did you put them all in the Proof of Relationship envelope? Not really wanting to put photos in two places, but also wanting the person that opens our application to see all info is there. Thanks

We only included photos in the proof of relationship envelope. Whenever we felt like answers to questions in the forms called for photos or other documents that were in the proof of relationships file we wrote something like "for photos see Proof of Relationship file, pages 30 to 32"

This is the single most valuable post I have found on this forum. Massive thanks to the OP! I just finished putting together mine and the structure is almost the same as yours.

I was given a UCI number when my visitor extension was approved. It was on my approval letter.

I am just wondering how the writer of this post has 33 pages for the Sponsor forms and documents???? - We are applying Inland and from the checklist there are only the 2 required forms (IMM1344 and IMM5481) and the supporting documents (birth certificate, financial proof), which equals no where close to 33 pages.

Am I missing something??

My husband and I recently submitted our application to Mississauga office, but.....

**1.We failed to write the sponsorship type "SPOUSAL"
**2.We just put our application forms and supporting documents all in just one envelope without labels.

Will there be a huge problem about it?

Please help. Thanks!

You mean you didn't write 'spousal' on the package? I wouldn't worry, you should be fine. Your forms say it is spousal sponsorship, they will figure it out as long as you sent it to the right address. As for putting it all in one envelope, that is perfectly fine as well, many people do it like that. The way with 3 envelopes just makes it easier to organise and initially review for the officer, however, at the later stage they are likely to scan all that into one file anyways. So don't worry about that, as long as its all in the envelope they will find what they need ;)
