hi all,

I'm sure someone has asked this question but I can't seem to find the answer to it so would appreciate your response:

I wondering how it all works out in the end, I know when you send the application, you first get approved (if you are approved) as a sponser then they forward your case to somewhere (missisauga or visa office abroad?), and they decide whether your spouse will be granted PR visa and they might ask you for extra information, and then if it is all approved, do they send you a letter saying you got a PR visa and then you have to go to canadian embassy there (whichever country you are at) and get it on your passport, or do they send the paper to you and you just use that paper and your passport to get into canada? could you have all the information sent to the sponser or they send letters concerning the spouse to spouse's address only but not the sponsors?

Thanks very much for your help.

1. The sponsorship and application goes to Mississauga.
2. If Missisauga approves the sponsorship, it goes to the overseas offfice.
3. The overseas office determines if it requires further information or interview.
4. Once the application is approved, then the overseas offices sends the applicant a passport request.
5. The applicant either sends the passport or takes it in person, and the overseas office inserts the COPR (Pr visa) in the passport
6. Then the applicant comes to Canada and is "landed" (receives PR status) at the Port of Entry.
7. Only the approval/refusal letter for the sponsorship is sent to the sponsor, unless they have be designated as the representative.

Hi Pea,

Further to PMM's reply, I have noticed that the proccessing times they mention in the CIC website is just an average. It is taking me a long time for every single step and I am still waiting to hear from local Visa office (India).

Dear Pea,

You are definitely correct, and you know well about the procedure of CIC, M. and Abroad local canadian visa office.

So no need to ask questions from members right.

1- Approve or unpprove by CIC Canada.

2- If approve your file/ application will be transfer to local canadian visa office for further processing.

3- Visa office abroad will start processing your application if missing documents in your application canadian visa office will ask you further or additional documents.

4- if you provide them as soon as possible then again update on your case and will send you another letter for asking Passport your Passport will take for visa at least 3-4 weeks.

5- After 4 week you will receive your visa with passport back.

6- Then your flight will be confirm if your sponsor paid in Canada the fees for flight if not then you should book flight to departure your country to Canada.

7- when you arrive in Canada. Officers in the airport in Canada will ask you the same questions which was asked you in abroad your country.

8- if correct answwers you will have your PR Card in your hand.

Thats allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. just for your information right.

Best
