Hello all,

I haven't posted in a long time, but I recently submitted my application for citizenship. I was wondering how you know which office is handling your application? How do you know if your office is a little more sluggish than others? I have been checking the forums on here and a few people who submitted on the same day or a few days after have already been invited for a test. Just curious. I am living in Victoria.

Thanks

Your office would be most probably Vancouver. Every case is different so it can take few months to many months or years depending upon the case.

We mail to Nova Scotia, so they send back to our local office?
Yes. Once your application is deemed to be complete and AOR sent your file is transferred to your local office for processing.

You will know which office only when you receive an invitation to write the citizenship test or other official correspondence. That will show which office is handling your case.

Surely my office would be Victoria, it's the capital of BC after all. Do they have an office? How do you know where there are or aren't offices and which one your application went to?

Thanks

I think CIC does not have office in Victoria. The oaths usually occur in Victoria but can occur too in Vancouver.
When you receive the test invite, it will tell where to attend the test.

1. Correct, there are only 2 offices in BC, Surrey and Vancouver. Victoria is served by itinerant service http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contact_us/offices/itinerant.asp
