Hi

As far as I understand, CEC and FSW require 1 year of canadian work exp.

And the Federal Skilled Trades Program, requires a job offer or LMIA which is like super tough and next to impossible to get.

So, how does a person outside of Canada get in?

You do not need Canadian experience for FSW. Please refer to this website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1. Masters degree or PHD
2. perfect score in IELTS
3. 3+ years of experience anywhere
4. Age < 35 (not in our hands :( )
5. Spouse with Masters/Phd and good score in IELTS (>6.5)

You can get around 460 if you meet above criteria.

FSW does not require a year of work in Canada - or any work in Canada at all. It requires a minimum of a year's experience in a job in an NOC 0,A, or B category, and you get extra points toward your minimum 67 for having worked in Canada.

Considering the draw scores now it may seem difficult. But reality is many people who got ITA now are from outside canada.. You just have to be 'well qualified'.

As varun has told above you can improve your chances by -

1. Getting CLB 9+ for IELTS
2. Masters degree and ECA from WES for it..
3. Work Experience of 3+ years and reference letter for that..

With this much itself you can get points of around 450 approx.

4. Spouse ECA and IELTS can add more points to your profile..

Thus you can shoot your score upto 460..

But eventually the points might come down upto 400-410 after a couple of months (though we cant be assertive about this)

Seby

Hello Seby.

According to your post 'But eventually the points might come down upto 400-410 after a couple of months' - Can you explain how your points would go down in couple of months.

Please explain. Thanks.

He doesn't mean your points , he means the draw points.

Does CiC indicate any draw dates and frequency of draws anywhere??
No..They have just mentioned that there would be 15-25 draws this year..

Also looking at the pattern we could say the draw happens mostly on Friday nights (Canadian time)
