how an international student can get his/her pr after marriage.

Hi i am a canadian citizen, and my wife is an international student. She came to canada in December 2010. We both got married last month (March 2012) Her student visa will be expired in Nov 2012. Need suggestions, should she extend her student visa or i should apply for her pr first. If i apply for her PR what are the requirements and what kind of proofs immigration office needs. pls advice.
