hi guys,

no draw since april 20 th, looks like its on purpose and the score in the pool most likely is too high. In other words, no scope for all below 450 like me. My IELTS expires in february 2016 and is there any hope in still i wait for this. i only have 432 points.

any way to get an LMIA for social work MSW..?

I think your IELTS expires on Feb, 2017. I believe you have other options like Provincial Nomination since I am sure the score won't drop anytime soon. Already there is a slow down in the intake because of backlogs. Please wait for experts' view.

Hi!! I think you mean that your IELTS expire in February 2017 and not 2016 because in the latter it implies that it has already expired.
And dont lose hope 432 is not a bad score. I think below are two options you can look into:
1. If you have any scope to increase your IELTS Band which may result an increase in CLB Level (If its not 9 or 10 at the moment) then you can give the IELTS again and a better score may increase your points.

But if you already have CLB 9 or higher in each category of IELTS then there is no point to give the exam again. The other option for you will be to wait for sometime and as soon as Ontario re-opens it's PNP you have a bright chance to get PT from Ontario and apply to them. IF you are nominated by Ontario you will get 600 points and a sure shot invitation in the next draw after your nomination.

Hope this helps :)

432 not good enough at near future. LMIA has 70+% rejection rate. Get PNP is the only way to go

What do you mean by 70+% rejection rate? Do you mean people are rejected by CIC after they get LMIA and apply with additional 600 points?

i am not sure whether the backlogs are directly affecting the intake / invites. but you are right in this regard, based on at least this forum, there is still a sizeable chunk of applicants waiting for CIC to complete the process (including PPR), with timelines exceeding the 6 months target.

I understand its a tough wait with no clarity but you would do well to look at other countries. Atleast Canada is willing to let people in. Obviously the demand is much more than supply so the system is overloaded. Lets be patient.

Regd the ITA query, it is unlikely that draw scores will drop below 455 in the near future. The best bet in this case is to find a PNP.

Everyone says go through the PNP route, PNP is not easy either. I completely understand OPs point. In the past, an an international graduate applied immediately they had one year work experience but now chances are almost zero with only a handful of employers willing to sponsor employees and PNP requirements difficult except ON that sends invites to people. This system, albeit fast is frustrating to a lot of people especially "the cream of the crop"

Think they mean that after applying for an LMIA, 70% are rejected and are not granted the LMIA.

Rejected by ESDC (the agency responsible for issuing LMIA)

The system isn't horrible - it works surprisingly well, given it's design.

Canada doesn't want open borders, or for everyone who wants to come to come. Express Entry is a way to help sort out qualified applicants from non-qualified, and it works reasonably well to do so.

Nowadays getting a good job is very difficult for new comers, that is why they made it tough now.
