My husband and I are both in Canada - he's ona post-graduation work permit that expires later in the fall, I was born here. We sent in the whole package for his permanent residence application uner the "Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class" (by express-post, so I know it was delivered on Sept 9.)
We haven't yet received any acknowlegement of receipt, which is making me antsy, particualrly since we included a request for extension on his permit - though that may not be important becasue he'll have implied status once i'm approved as sponsor?
What's gto me worried jsut now is that I was double(/triple/quadruple)-checking the processing times for the sponsorship part of the application, and I noticed that the times are listed under the Mississauga processing centre - but we sent the entirety of our package to Vegreville, as per the document check-list and the CIC instruction booklet we were working from.
So my question is: have we messed this up somehow, or does the sponsorship part of the application get automatically forwarded to Mississauga (and if so, how much time should I expect that to add to processing times), or what?
Hopefully someone can put my mind at ease here...
(Thank you)
