Hi everyone. I feel like this question has been answered but can't seem to find it again. I have just received my COPR through the mail. I know that I am required to land in Canada to activate it, but I am actually already in Canada. Do I have to cross the border in the U.S., or can I bring it to an office in Canada to get this done? Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks.
I did the same a week ago that went to US border and landed in canada border. It's very simple. Which city You are in?

You can call CIC and arrange the landing in the CIC office, however, you may have to wait for months, it depends on the CIC office.

I suggest you make a call and see when is the latest day they can do, if you have to wait for a while then going to the border is your best choice unless you don' mind to wait inland.

I have ordered my notes, it most likely will come in a few weeks. I like to know what is the eligibility due date means. I read that from several other people whom also ordered notes.

Thank you.

Thanks guys! I'm in Toronto, so we were going to land at Niagara. Anyone know how long it takes? And do I have to be there as the sponsor, or can my husband go on his own to activate his permanent residence?

The landing process itself is fairly quick, about 10-15min. You better schedule your crossing at weekdays/low traffic times to avoid long lines though. As long as you guys applied outland (i assume you did as you are on HK thread) , your husband can do the landing by himself.

I haven't landed yet, but tomorrow we will drive to Oroville WA then land at Osoyoos border when coming back, I live in Kelowna so it's the closest border for us :)

My mailing address is in AB where my in-laws live cuz where we live in Kelowna is a share house and we only have one mail box, it's better and more secured to send it to Alberta for me. I landed today, i've brought a bunch of documents just in case, but they did not even ask, all they need is COPR and passport, now just another waiting game of the PR card.
Hope you will get yours very soon!!!!!!!

p.s. Kelowna is a really nice to place to live, nice weather as well! You should move here ;)

Great!! I love summer Kelowna. Not sure how's the winter.
Is there any conditions on your COPR? Liberals are trying to drop the two years condition. So not sure if it's implemented yet.

I'm not sure if everyone has it. But I read it somewhere that Cic gives out two years conditional pr, if you divorce the sponsor your pr will be gone too.
