I got an email from HKVO requesting the police certificate and a new forms of IMM5669 from HK.

> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate from Hong Kong.

This must be received at this office by: 2015/11/05

> Schedule A: A separate and newly completed Schedule A Background Declaration form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature - Updated. Please include period of your residency in Hong Kong and provide information for all fields since the age of 18.

I am confused here. Since my husband came to Canada to study since his age of 17. And he haven't stayed in HK for more than six months since his age of 18. If this is the case, does he still need to provide the police certificate from HK?

I don't think you husband needs that. You can just quote to HKVO. Seems your progress same as me. Hopefully we could get PPR very soon...

can't believe it's the 7th week after 2nd medical done...and i am still waiting for PPR

i am following 4 forums...
since sept...HK has been sending interview invitations to 2014 nov & dec applicants...scheduled interview dates are in oct & nov

lots of people are waiting for ppr...including some who did 2nd medical 2 months ago...

Bukeluke, Congrat! at least they are processing your application now.
What info did they ask you to submit?

I havent got any yet and my med is gonna expire next month.
I assume I need to do another one soon ><

I think they will ask you to re-do medical very soon

Hi, I have my medical done in Jan of 2015, just prior to the submission. How long is the medical good for ? When and under what condition you need to redone.

Valid for one year. If it is likely to expire before they anticipate you getting a visa and for reasonable time after visa to land then they would ask for a new medical.

Hi vanhk , did you join any QQ groups? I don't have QQ and just concern about what month the VO is processing the cases, maybe there's more information in the QQ groups if you've heard of anything. Thank you!

Hi! I am a Jan 22 applicant from HK. Our status changed to in process on August 10. My consultant helped me send a letter to enquire about my case and we just got an email back from
CIC requesting for a police check, passport, passport photos, as well as updated medical. However, we are already physically in Canada. Anyone know whether I should still send the passport and passport photos to HK, or should I send it to Ottawa instead? Can you please direct me to where I can find this info? Thank you!!!

OK, I modify my reply:

Euds, I think (not 100%) you can send passport to Ottawa if you are now visiting / living with your spouse in Canada. Reasons: I remember some forum members did mail their passport to CPC-Ottawa after received PPR (mumof3 for example; she moved to Canada with her families before her application was finalized. She received PPR in August, mailed her passport to Ottawa and is now a PR.)

Also, I agree that it's wise to inform HKVO your current status and ask for their permission first.

Last but not least, at this moment, you need to have your police check and 2nd medical done asap. Reasons: it takes 3-4 weeks for HK police to send your police check to HKVO. And I think (I might be wrong), they won't process your application till police check is received and criminality is passed.

HK Police Check: You should apply in person at the Certificate of No Criminal Conviction Office; or, You need to apply in writing to The Commissioner of Police.
Web Link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/hong-kong.asp

2nd Medical Exam:Make sure you have the medical instruction with barcode HKVO attached in the email...u need that form to do your 2nd medical (HKVO should have filled that form for you). You should be able to re-do medical inside Canada as well. mumof3 and tofuboi both re-did medical in Canada.

Good Luck!

Hi Euds, I'm sure you can send passport to Ottawa...

Btw, how long did it take for HKVO to reply your enquire?

Thanks!

You are giving a very poor and dangerous advise to someone not to follow VO instructions, in the best case, his/her passport may just be returned to the OP after 2-3 weeks, in the worst OP will go through a long limbo to get it back and who knows if an officer in HKVO will not decide to close the case in the meanwhile.
OP - you should either do exactly as instructed by VO or send them a message through the case specific inquiry form, explaining your situation and ask for further instructions (which may take a while). Are you HK passport holder or mainland one? If you do not require counterfoil, you just need to send a photocopy of your passport so that should solve your dilemma.

Hi Sashiali78, lots people whose applications were transferred to HK mailed their passports to Ottawa (if the applicant is currently living in Canada). As i remember, mumof3 did the exact same after received PPR in August. Actually, Ottawa usually return passport in 1 week while it takes 2-4 weeks for HK to process. Not mention HK is now experiencing horrible delay in processing applications. People have been waiting for 2 months after done 2nd medical...some are still waiting for PPR even though their cases has been DM for 1 month.

Hi Euds, you can always email HK and inform them that you are in Canada now and ask if you are allowed to send passport to Ottawa. Personally, I photocopied both my and my sponsor's passport pages and sent to HKVO in Nov 2014...so most likely, they won't request me to send my passport.
