My wife noticed a status change on July 31st to "Decision Made". It's now been almost one month and have not heard anything from CIC. Can someone please advise if this is a normal waiting period before hearing from CIC?

My wife's case is being handled through the Visa Office in Hong Kong and is a sponsorship case.

I suggest you contact your MP about this and they will contact CIC and get back to you, it will be the fastest way to follow up your case about why your wife hasn't got the passport request email or anything, although you can email HKVO but it will take about a month till they respond, good luck!

What is your application timeline? You can try to send an inquiry through the case specific inquiry form: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Hi Everyone,

I am new to here. First of all, I want to thank the gentleman who created the spreadsheet as it allows me to compare my wife's case to the rest of the kindhearted people in this forum. Here is my time line:

Medical Done 11/14/2014
Application for permanent residence to CIC @ Mississauga 12/12/2014
Sponsorship approval 3/4/2015
Application received by HK VO 3/16/2015
In Process 8/14/2015 (roughly)
Decision Made 8/22/2015
PPR 8/24/2015
Mainland passport received by Beijing office 8/28/2015

Now, I have two situations that I am currently facing.............

The first one is the Right of Permanent Resident fee for my wife. Actually, I already paid this amount before I submitted the whole application package to CIC at Mississauga. Somehow, the HK VO thinks I still haven't paid the RPRF (as mentioned in the PPR email!!!) and wants me to submit the RPRF receipt via their online website. How could HK VO miss this one? Is it possible that the Mississauga office forgot to forward my RPRF receipt over?? The total amount on the receipt is $1040.00 (which includes, sponsor, principal applicant, and RPRF)

The second one is the passport to the Beijing VO. My wife did send the passport over earlier in the week, but I am unsure about the turnaround time. Can you guys share your experience with the Beijing VO?

Thanks in advance for this matter

Hi AccordV6,
You don't worry about it, all you have to do is to write a note to them , saying that you have already paid $1040 including PR card fee during the application sent to CIC in Dec. it is better to attach the copy of your bank draft of $1040 as the evidence of this payment , send to HKVO with your PA UCI and PA name for HKVO reference.

For HKSAR passport experience, they return my passport with COPR within 1 week if no other issues come out.
Hope that you can get COPR and VISA soon.

Ian

Hi sashali78, thanks for the link. I sent a note to CIC asking for details, but looks it may take a month to hear a response using that form :(

Thanks, Ian.

I surely hope the RPRF issue won't delay my wife's COPR.

It would have been great if HK VO can handle my wife's passport (instead of Beijing VO).

Congratulation to your COPR arrival :)

Yep, they are "fast". You can also request GCMS notes in the meanwhile to see whats going on there, but that will take a month too.

"... the Right of Permanent Resident fee for my wife. Actually, I already paid this amount..."

Apparently it's part of the passport request form letter that Hong Kong consulate sends so everyone gets asked for this regardless.

"... the passport to the Beijing VO. My wife did send the passport over earlier in the week, but I am unsure about the turnaround time."

The VAC (visa application centre) will check to ensure that you have pre-paid the VAC's service charge for them to send the passport to the Beijing embassy (149.50 RMB) and to courier it back to you (43.40 RMB for a total of 192.9 RMB), and ideally you should have signed the VAC's consent form as well and included that it what was couriered to Beijing:
http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/China/english/pdf/China_consent_form.pdf

The VAC should move very quickly in terms of forwarding the passport on to the embassy but we were told by the VAC that we should expect the Beijing embassy to hold it for four weeks and indeed that's what happened.

Hi BrianDell,

Thanks for the tips. Now, I understand this is just a generic email that the HK VO uses.

As for the Beijing VAC, my wife did pay VAC a total of 192.9 RMB. However, we didn't sign this VAC consent form, so this is the one thing that didn't go along with the PPR letter, passport, and 3 photos. I 've used the VAC online tracking tool earlier, and found the passport already been forwarded to the embassy. Hopefully, the embassy won't be asking us for this consent form......

My wife did her medical after receiving AOR2 from HKVO. I uploaded her emedical letter received from clinic to HKVO using Case Specific Enquiry last week. But still no "medical received" update on her eCAS website. Should I wait for a few more weeks, or ask my wife to send the physical copy of the emedical letter to HKVO?

Hi Braveblade,

no need to worry abt it as eMedical result will send to CIC / HKVO automatically. You have done the right thing that informing HKVO about medical done thru Case Specific Enquiry. that is the only way to communicate to them using this tool , but need to wait for 1 month duration to reply. For the Ecas, sometimes they don't update it immediately or wont update there. you only need to wait for HKVO PPR email.
