Hi All
Class: FAM
Consulate: HK
My current on-line status is:
1.We received your application for permanent residence on March 3, 2014.
2.We started processing your application on August 25, 2014.
3.Medical results have been received.

I received email with request for my passport 10th Sept, and it still not back today (16th Oct).
I also received request for HK Police record on 22nd Sept.

Does anybody have any idea when I can expect the passport with the visa back?
Will the Certificate of PR be issued together with the passport?

Thank you.

I think they are waiting for your HK police cert, usually it takes 3-4 weeks for HK Police to send it out from the day you applied it...(so there is no way they can send your passport back right now)...maybe another 2-3 weeks I think

Hi Minnekei
thanks for your estimate. What makes you think it will be another 2-3 weeks?

your hk police cert is going to be sent within 1 week + general material processing time for cic is 2 weeks ( from my GCMS notes, cic takes 2 weeks to take the record of my HK police cert after they received it)

i wanna know what medical exam is required. thx

You have to go to one of the doctors assigned by CIC. Then regular check-up will be done (including x-ray, blood test and some other physical exam). I submitted the medical receipt when I sent the application package. But I heard that you can also do it later, when you are given the UCI at a later stage.

You seem to know how they operate. What does GCMS stand for?

Hi All,

I have a question about checking my status online. I sent out my application in June 2014. I received a letter in August stating that I have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor (I am sponsoring my husband and we are both in Hong Kong). I then received police cert request on Oct 15. However until today, I still cannot check my status online. Is this normal? Thank you very much for your help!

Regards,

Edith

Usually, you can log on to ECAS 2 to 3 days after AOR1, you probably enter some fields wrong, did u put only your last name?

Thank you for your reply! I entered both my last name and first name. I have both the UCI and Application number. I tried both but was not successful. Will there be a chance that they haven't started processing my application so I cannot the status online? Thanks again!

You should entered last name only, no need for first name. A lot of people made the same mistake. Try again using just last name.

Hi! I got it! I could see the status. Thank you very much for your help! :D

Hi All,

Here is my current online status:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on June 27, 2014.

2. We started processing your application on October 7, 2014.

3. Medical results have been received.

An email requesting police cert is received on Oct 15. I saw that people usually have passport and police cert request at the same time, is it? Since my husband is holding a Hong Kong passport, will he have passport request?

Thank you all!

Yes, you still need to send in your passport even HK is visa exempt.

Hi there,

Usually what is the validity of the visa once we get approved? Someone said 2 months which is short. Does anyone here got a longer period of time? Thanks!
