My wife just received her confirmation of permanent residence Document and HKSAR Passport from visa office, but the passport has NOT any visa stick on the passport contains pages. So does she need a PR visa stick on her Passport for landing?
She is visa exempt: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp?country=Hong%20Kong%20Special%20Administrative%20Region

They do not give TRVs to visa exempt passport holders, as the purpose of the TRV is to allow the person to board a common carrier bound for Canada. Since a visa exempt passport holder does not require a TRV, it serves no purpose.

Hi acapeg,

Wow, congratulation as being a mom. you must be so released and happy to watch you baby now. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I am also surprised CIC asked you the police clearance at this stage.

I am sure your will have sponsorship approval soon. Good luck to you and everyone stuck with HK visa centre! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks, oasisfairy ! I would not say being a mom in the first month is enjoyable, but definitely a precious experience ! ;D ;D
Right now, all I can do is just wait. I would say my case is pretty straightforward, hopefully the process shouldn't be long.
I applied for the citizenship certificate for my baby daughter already. Hope I can get the spousal visa by the end of this year !

I also saw one applicant asked to get the passport back as he had to leave hk for a business trip, surprisingly the pr visa was already attached on it...

If I were you..I will send an email ask what's going on with my passport...

Hi guys, for those got the visa already , can u let me know at what stage would you be asked for the police clearance ?

My husband sent the application in end Nov. And we were told that something is missing , so we submitted the whole package again in late Jan ..
And last Sat, my husband got an email asking for my police clearance report ,which I will do tomorrow ...

I read somewhere that you would be asked for the police clearance almost at the last stage before they asked u for visa ... But in my case, in the email ,it says that the application is not in process yet as the police clearance is missing ...
Anyone has any feedback ???? I just want to have an estimation of the timing ...

Thanks !!!

Hello :)

I'm Korean living in Hong Kong for almost 4 years and my husband is in Canada. believe or not, we only meet each other once a year.. :'(
I can't wait to go back to him!!!!! ASAP!
So, recently I applied my application thru Hong Kong Visa office and they just sent me an email they got my application in Hong Kong...I guess..
At this moment, i'm pretty worried about my application form and the files...

1. Since, I'm not Chinese so there are many documents that I couldn't provide.. so, I followed Korean guide line and I submitted but not sure.. they will be ok..

2. We've been doing long distance relationship for almost 8 yrs and sign up the paper... but no ceremony yet, because we wanna do when I'm settle in Canada first.
Would that be ok? I have tons of pictures, letters, phone history, emails.. but couldn't show it all (for 8 yrs we talked every single day..)

3. Does HK visa office have high rate of PR refusal?

4. Is it mandatory to submit the passport?? How long do I need to get the passport back ?

Thanks :D

Hi SKXKFFL

1. You should follow the Korean Guide
2. It's fine to have ceremony afterward as long as you explain the reason
3. Not sure about the rate of PR refusal but HK has higher interview rate and longer duration than Beijing office..but don't worry it's still faster than most of other countries
4. Not mandatory before they send the request email of passport. Some people get passport back after two weeks but some take 4 months...it really depends

hope these info can help you

no news yet, the police cert was sent in end of march .... why do you need to do the medical check after submitting the application ?
i suppose we should do the medical check before the submission.
when you received the letter requesting the police cert, did it say your application has not been processed ?
i know someone working in Consulate of Canada and she told me that they would be moving the office to Quarry Bay next month, then I am afraid the applications will be processed even slower in HK office....

i thought the medical report need the UCI number, and it would be easier for them to trace it out (due to the report not sending along with our application), considering whether to do the medical check now
same, not in process due to missing docs --> police cert >.<
really thanks for your information

Hi

Did you get the request email form HK consulate to do the police cert in HK or you just went there by yourself??

My application was received on Jan 9 and transferred to HK on Feb 19. (I already get the applicant uci) but there is no more updates ever since that day.

If you did your police cert in hk by yourself, can you tell me how? The HK Police doesn't take personal request, does it?
