are you referring to the medical report that is required for the application ?
that will usually forward to the HK visa office within a month after you completed it

or are you doing another extra DNA test for the application ?
i saw you submitted yr application in Dec 2012 (almost 10 months time now)
did that go through from the Hong Kong visa office ?

i sent my application in Aug 8 2013, i m canadian citizen and my wife is from Hong Kong
hope i will get some news soon.

yep after interview ask for DNA test, we have been finished our DNA test in AUG, now we are waiting for some decision.

what is this DNA test for ? is it required for everyone ?

I live in Hong Kong now,
My husband was relocated to beijing for work and I went there with him.
And now, he work in Hong Kong and no need to go back to China.
I checked some websites, seems I can't get a PRC police check as i don't hv job in China.
Those documents are requested by HK Visa Office.

We hv similar case, I hope you hv good news soon !

Then i think the only way for you is to write a letter and explain to the visa office that you are currently living in Hongkong and will not be able to provide the PRC from China.

your case is really fast because they already requested police certificate in less than 3 months

sing_tao, I have good news for the PRC from China.
My Beijing friend helped me for that. She find a company that provide that service.
I can pay for that cert just with the copy of my "Home Return Permit" & authorization letter.
Although I heard that it is free of charge if I apply in person, I think it is the fastest way for me to do now.
At least, I don't need to fly back to Beijing and wait 7 working days there.

As they collected my passport and i am waiting for my visa.
But, after 2 weeks , I received an email about I need below document or proof :

Substantial proof of sponsor's intention to return to Canada

Anyone have been requested for the same thing ?
Any suggestions to me ? Thanks

Anyone have been requested for the same thing ?

Things such as plane ticket, Canadian residence title deeds, house purchase / lease agreements and job offering letters

Hi everyone,


I don't know is a good new or what, I received my passport today together with a confirmation of permanent residence letter and another letter telling me I need to enter Canada according to the date issue on the visa affixed on my passport. I flipped through my passport, there is no visa. I called Beijing visa, they said they cannot find my record and the Beijing visa office told me to call Canada. I tried to check on E case, my account is gone, i mean I enter all my UCI no and other details as always, but they said they cant find my case. I then login to my sponsor's E case . Both side is decision made. Im so confused and frustrated, I need to wait to next morning Canada time to call to Canada office. I'm so angry now!!!!!! :'(

i suggest you call beijing once again to confirm ( maybe the person picked up the call is a newbie), there is no way that they cannot find your information ?

did you check everypage of yr passport ? cant believe they made these silly mistakes

Yes, I cant believe, I flipped so many times... :'( I called them twice, they pass my phone to couples person and they told me they do not know about immigration they only deal with visa application that sent to Beijing in person or in mail, but we need to mail our application to Canada for sponsor approval first and they will direct our case to Beijing, they said they dont know, I should call Canada embassy, I done with China Chinese, cannot communicate with them anymore. I can only wait till tomorrow Canada working hr to call to Canada.

I am wondering how can I buy a ticket , before I get the visa and confirmed the travel date.
We want to move back to Toronto as his grandma and parents are getting old.
We want to take care of them, so we planned to live together with them when we landed.
and will find a bigger house when settled down, so bad we don't have any house purchase document now.
I am going to tell the truth and what we thoughs to them. Hope they can understand.
