If we plan to order GCMS notes but we have a lawyer, does it make a difference or is there something different I need to do? I know my lawyer isn't that great and he will tell me to wait a few months but I want to order them myself, so can I do that even though I have a representative, and do I need to note that down anywhere in the form when I order GCMS notes?

today I call SF to come pick up my mail for mailing to Canada, they told me they have no service point in Canada yet! are you sure you can mail stuff to Canada by Sf express?
I was talking about SF courier between Hong Kong and China. For courier between Hong Kong and Canada, we use Fedex. EMS is one of the worst.

they give timeline on approx. processing time on their website, I'd suggest you to read that. By personal experience, some takes 6 months, some take 18, really depends on where/how you prepared the package and if you have everything that they need.

I have written Hong Kong to be my visa office, however while I received my SA they moved me to Beijing office based on my address now. I have been working in Shanghai for 4 years but my mailing address still Hong Kong as the China post is not reliable and my family still in Hong Kong. The thing is, I'm going to go to Canada next month and wait for my PR with my fiancee so my address is going to change again, I will never return to Shanghai (as that is not my home) so its doesnt make sense that my visa office is in Beijing. Does it sound any matter to u guys? ??? thanks.

Hi guys....

On the Information Guide for Hong Kong IMM3093E, under section 9: IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS, it asks for :Absolute nisi decree (Hong Kong residents).

What is this document and do I need it?

If you had legally divorced in Hong Kong, you definitely need it.

appreciate if someone can help me out on this

we are at the final stage of preparing our sponsorship package, my wife is going to do her medical check.
(she lives in Hong Kong currently and I am in toronto)

when she did the booking yesterday, the nurse was asking her to prepare her passport and 4 pictures for the medical check.

i am just wondering are the pictures required as i dont see any requirements from the document list ??? :-X

i know that people who are submitting to HK visa office needs 5 pictures, but never heard of the 4 pictures requested from the doctor

am i missing something here ?

thanks

If a doctor uses eMedical System, then you don't even need 4 pictures.
But being prepared more is not a bad thing. :)

You can search the "Medical exam for permanent residents" in CIC websire(sorry I am not allowed to post a link)

When you go to your appointment, you must bring:

proper identification (you will need at least one document with your photograph and signature, such as a passport, driver’s licence or national identity card)
eye glasses or contact lenses, if you wear them
any medical reports or test results that you have regarding previous or existing medical conditions, and
the Medical Report form (IMM 1017E), if you do not undergo an up-front medical exam. The visa office will send you this form.
You may have to bring:

Four recent photographs. You will need to bring these only if the doctor you select from the list of panel physicians does not work with CIC via the eMedical electronic system. Please check with the doctor’s office when you book your appointment.

Irene, i think you need to ask the visa office in China
are you currently living in China or Canada ?

I am a Canadian citizen and i am sponsoring my wife as well.
My wife is from Hong Kong
we filed our application on Aug 8 . 2013. (almost a month after you)
Looks like your process is very fast because they already request police certificate from you
thats good news ....

btw, is yr application going to Hong kong visa office or China visa office ?
do u think they have the same timings ?

cheungcheung
are you referring to the medical report that is required for the application ?
that will usually forward to the HK visa office within a month after you completed it

or are you doing another extra DNA test for the application ?
i saw you submitted yr application in Dec 2012 (almost 10 months time now)
did that go through from the Hong Kong visa office ?

i sent my application in Aug 8 2013, i m canadian citizen and my wife is from Hong Kong
hope i will get some news soon.

good luck

sing_tao, Thanks for your reply.

I live in Hong Kong now,
My husband was relocated to beijing for work and I went there with him.
And now, he work in Hong Kong and no need to go back to China.
I checked some websites, seems I can't get a PRC police check as i don't hv job in China.
Those documents are requested by HK Visa Office.

We hv similar case, I hope you hv good news soon !
