Personally, there is no place like home when it comes to Christmas.

Yes, HK is lovely, but if you've been a million times, it gets old...just like any other place.

Marty, a BIG congratulations to you and your wife! You are correct, in that, your wife's e-cas will change to 'Decision Made' within a week and then the passport will be back in another week or so. Still can't understand why it would take so long for you guys, but hey, at least you made it through without any major problems!

So true....
I must have pressed another button there, sorry...
Thanks FS, almost there...
Our case had some red flags, rightfully identified by the CIC, they have eventually been cleared, and now towards the finish line....

I was looking last evening for plane tickets for Dec. 15-20 timeline, just before Christmas......

I just looked now inot my wife's eCas,
Today, Nov 05, her status chaged to "Decision Made".
She should receive her passport with her visa by the end of this week or early next week.

Yes, she was supposed to get her passport back with the visa on June 27, then on June 21 she received an e-mail saying that her case was referenced for further checks, which would last 3 months, so yes, they held her passport since June 20.

I got to my office this morning and on my desk was the package from Hong Kong. I couldnt concentrate or do anything at work, my heart was beating so fast. I didnt open it and came home at lunch to give it to my husband to open. I asked him to sit down and handed him the package. He looked at it and threw it on the ground. Then he went and opened it and flipped thru the pages, saw the visa and started screaming.

We are so excited after our long immigration journey to finally be able to move to Canada together as a family.

Our ecas has not changed to decision made yet so for all those who are still waiting you may be surprized.

The visa was issued on Oct 18 and took till Nov 8 to be delivered
