Hong Kong timeline

I have submitted my passport to HK VO in mid Sept and I inquired about the process and they said it is still pending for admissibility review? Does anyone what admissibility review they are doing? I check my hk police check was sent to the consulate in late sept. I have already been 2 months...I am currently in Canada , without the passport, I dont have any identity proof and can go nowhere....

Anyone has submitted the passport and having the similar situation ? Pls share..

Still waiting... We're still in HKG and checking the e-cas everyday. Haven't called the visa office for explanation as i figured it would take them around 2 months to get it back to us.

Everybody's is different, as with our case, it took nearly 4 months for them to ask for the passport.

Is there anyone still has their e-case status shown as 'Application received' after you received the police check letter? This is what is happening to me right now.
I am confused since i thought by asking the police certificate, it means that they are reviewing my case at the moment.

4 months ? Are you successful before the body check deadline (one year) ?
Why you can apply Nov 2011, but done the medical report on May 2012, are the policy is differece between China and HK ? We are living in HK, and the application form need to send out the form with the medical report together !

We had always thought that it was done after the application was handed in. At least that was what we thought and heard through own experience and others, of course it was over 30 years ago! I am sponsoring my wife, and we are also living in Hong Kong. As such, I believe our case is taking a little bit long longer than the rest as both me and my wife are in Hong Kong. They have to be convinced that I am going to drop everything in Hong Kong and go back to Vancouver with my wife when she is granted the permanent residency visa.

If your case from 2011 Nov to Sept 2012,that is not too long. within one year !
We just apply the policy check on 25 Sept 2012, and sumbit some Intention to Canada documents on 1 Nov 2011, now just waiting the goods news. Hope the next letter is request our passport asap.

You're right, it is just coincidental we submitted the application without thinking about the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Holidays. So, i would not suggest anybody to hand in their application at the end of the year. Otherwise, everything else is still very reasonable. Of course, other than my wife not being able to travel anywhere without her passport until it is returned to her with the visa!

Yey...my wife's home address changed to my canadian address.
Soooo glad, after such a long waiting, almost 12 months in HK only.
Following other people here, I expect in the next week or so that "Decision Made" would show up, then her passport with the visa should arrive in Gz in about 10-14 days, after that I can book the flight right away...
What a wanderful Christmas gift........
We were on QQ this morning when I checked and we found that out together....what an explosion of joy.....
I will keep everybody posted.

I personally prefer the winter season in Hong Kong. Not soooooo wet. Besides, there are Christmas lights on both sides of the Victoria Harbour. You won't see that much in Vancouver.

Well... In vancouver, we actually get to decorate our houses and go and get our real christmas trees. After returning to hkg for more than 10 years, i've only got the real trees last year only because it was available at IKea. haha. And wasn't it snowing in vancouver last year? At least there are seasons in vancouver as compared to here. but hey, i'm really not complaining. i'm just sitting here waiting until my wife's visa arrives.

Why do you say that ?
I was in HK 2 times and I like HK very, very much, much nicer than Toronto.
I was impressed with the cleanliness (not in To.), nice people, 8 o'clock light show in Victoria Harbour...and so many other things....SOHO....street market.....etc...
I think each city has its own goods and bads, each city has its own flavour....
