Huge congrats bagelbagel. It is kinda anticlimactic. But the excitement will build up again once you start planning the actual landing date.

We'll probably go with a certified check. The biggest denomination of traveler's check is $100, so it's not the most convenient method for us.

FS can I ask which bank you dealt with that let you apply online? I checked TD, they allow you to fill out the form online but if you don't already have an account or money at their bank you need to go to a branch to finalized the application.

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but it's kind of related. I'm finalizing my move back to and I am still debating on how to bring our savings back. I haven't had a bank account in Canada for like 10 years. So if I wire money I would need to wire to my parents bank account, not sure if that would...

The COPR is last step, either than landing. Once the Paris VO receives your husband's passport they will do some final checks and then issue the COPR. They will return his passport along with the COPR. The sooner they get his passport the sooner he will get his COPR. Basically, you guys at 95%...

Congrats, after all this trouble no point in going cheap now, I would Fedex or DHL the stuff to them asap. The sooner they get your passport copies the faster they can issue the COPR and return mail it to you guys. With some luck you guys may have a very good X'mas gift this year.

    Landing- getting off plane

Have to agree with you Saffy, that walkway to the immigration area at Pearson is crazy long. I timed it last time I was there. It took us almost 15 mins to walk from our landing gate to the immigration area.

AOR 2 is when HK gets your application. I did my medical exam on 7/17/2012 so my visa would expiry 7/17/2013.

    1. AOR just means the visa office has received your application nothing more. 2. Do the medical before, and submit with your application. 3. The visa expiry date is the same date as your medical expiry date. Which is 1 year after the date you do your medical. So do the medical just before you...

Nice, that makes things easy. I thought I had to prepare one before hand. I guess everyone's first PR card photos must look awful since most have just landed after a long flight. Thanks for the answer.

Hope she is adapting well. Quick question, when you land do you need to bring photos to submit to the immigration officer to apply for the PR card?
