Yes, that is what I am wondering as well. But an applicant in China mentioned she sent the passport to VAC Beijing on March 10 and get the "big yellow envelope" back on March 13. Maybe an extreme case, as I know Beijing VAC started taking passport on March 9 and there may be not any submissions at that time. My wife's passport arrived in VAC Beijing on March 12 (it took 2 days to deliver the pass in the city!) and was dispatched to embassy on March 16 and is still in the embassy for processing.

The exemption is not in place yet. Though theoretically, they are allowed to enter Canada, in reality, they have to wait until the exemption is in place.
Workers, students and approved permanent residents who haven’t landed should not travel yet. We’ve announced exemptions but they’re not in place. Travel restrictions are still in effect for these groups.

Only Canadian citizens, and permanent residents, and some foreign nationals travelling from the United States (US) who have been in the US for at least 14 days and are asymptomatic, are able to enter Canada by air at this time.

Hi, my husband(sponsor) received an email said it moved to Mississauga instead of Hong Kong on Feb, but we never received AOR2. And on ECAS, it didn't show that our case moved to Mississauga as well. They are still waiting for my Hong Kong PCC.

Anyone experiences something like this?

It means your case is relatively simple and in general, the process will be faster than those applications that are transferred to HKKVO.

I think the CIC in person landing is not an option either for now, hopefully they will come out with some other ways for inland landing. Did you get any progress on the passport ?

What about our domestic IRCC operations?
Domestic IRCC operations are reduced to critical services. We have cancelled all citizenship ceremonies, tests and retests, as well as all in-person permanent resident landing appointments and refugee claimant appointments. We are looking into alternative means to provide permanent resident landing services, including possibly by telephone. Clients will be contacted directly to reschedule their appointment.
We are also suspending non-essential settlement services and biometrics collection services at 58 Service Canada locations.

Sadly, no updates.

Our application status is updated to complete. Passport is sent back to Beijing VAC so hopefully next Monday my wife will get all her documents. Finally, this ordeal is almost over:D
Congratulations again ! You have been patient throughout the " ordeal " .
Will your wife arrive here soon or wait for the next ordeal to end ? I have two PR friends
that have already returned to the mainland and will wait it out for now thinking it's
safer. We are ok with lots of space around us and no need to go anywhere.
Stocked up with beer and the fridge is full of toilet paper o_O

Good question.
Who really knows at this time ? Everything is changing now.
I guess it would depend on the office, current staffing levels, policy......etc.

your sponsorship was already approved so there is no impact if you apply EI at this time. We got DM on. Jan 24 and did not get PPR until Feb. 28 so it will come in a couple of days.
Thank you! Sure hope to receive the PPR soon but given the recent situation, there may be some more delays. Fingers crossed!

IRCC is considering all the options, one of them is "telephone landing", be creative, and be very creative at this time :p

Thank you. She will wait a bit until things are settled down in Canada. Flights are reduced to only once a week. So we are targeting some time by the end of April or May and hopefully by that time, the number of infection would be stabilized. Beer is out but I stocked up wine and spirit ;)
