hi guys, anyone sent their application in Feb? What is your process now?

HKVO started to process my case on April 5, and I received an email from my immigration consultant on April 10, which is from HKVO saying if my medical report would be expired soon, I should get a new one. After that my application online status has not changed.

Is that normal? If I am asked to submit additional material, is that gonna show on the online application status?

Thank you!!!

No worries, it would be months for your medical to expire. I don't think status will change after you submitted additional material. Should you submit via online, then you may get a automated response. The only way for your to know the status is to order notes but that takes 30 days to deliver.

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how long it takes for the passport request to get processed? My wife received her passport request mid April and it's been processing for the last six weeks. She dropped it off at the Beijing visa office and they keep telling her that it's not ready yet. Has anyone had this happen to them? Thanks.

I'm sponsoring my common law partner outland (we both live together abroad), case processing by HKVO. Is it normal for HKVO to ask the sponsor (ie. me) to provide further proof of intention to move back before issuing COPR for the applicant?

If being asked for interview, anyone knows how long in advance notice will be given? Is there an option to change the date? I'll be travelling for 2 weeks in September and just wondering how hope to cope with availability if that happens.

Under the present law naturalized Canadians have to declare/show their intent to reside in Canada. More so if they are sponsoring someone.
You may inform HKVO about your travel plans. They will keep them in view at the time of deciding on interview date.

Hi,

I just received AOR2 mail from Hong Kong requesting many documents. I have some questions:

1. HKVO is asking for 2 more photos, but I've sent 9 photos in April using the exact photo spec they requested, do I need to send these 2 photos?

2. If I need to send the photos, can I send to CPC-O since I'm already working in Canada?
(I apply outside Canada while I'm actually working inside Canada)

3. CIC's web page says that we don't have to apply Canadian police certificate, so I think I can skip this, right?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No

Thanks~

I got the same request too. for the photo, on my letter it says "if not yet submitted: two recent photos respecting....." so I guess I am not sending additional photo ( I sent 5 with my app). they also asked for police certs from each country you have spent 6 months or more. I did not send any police cert with my app, because it says you dont need to on their website. but it also says that you need to provide them once the visa office make a request for it. so I am going to get both the hk and canada police certs in the next two days and send them along with other requested docs.

Edit:found out there is no need to get criminal check from canada, only from hk
