got a reply from the office. They said it's ok to fill the mailing address form electronically and return via email.
they didn't ask for it. I'll just follow the instruction for now.motorcyclerider said:So does that mean your wife doesn't have to send in her passport for the COPR?
it's usually quicker outland. But it all depends on your situation if you would apply inland or outland. I suggest doing some more reading on the forum. It also depends on if your case is straight forward, first marriage, no kids, strong evidence, etc. can really help to speed things up. A few of us here have gotten a really smooth process. Nothing like the 18 months or so listed on the CIC website for HK.Winifred said:Hi guys,
I really want to know how long does it take to apply spouse sponsorship in hong kong? I am really confused that should I apply inland or outland.
Guess they swim regular mail over, hand it to a bycicle pusher who brings it to Guangzhou after loosing it a few times in rain. 2 weeks, I could even walk it there in that time.Fencesitter said:Yeah, when they pay HK$1.80 in postage, I guess you have to expect it to take ages!
Hopefully with registered mail it will be a bit faster.
From what my wife has told me, and based on others on that QQ group, it normally takes a couple of weeks to receive 'regular' mail from HK (at least for residents of Guangzhou).
But yeah, I'll be checking e-cas daily...but I doubt they'll update it until much later...or until I send another case specific enquiry...
