It's not common for HKVO, but for the recent cases shows that HKVO works differently with other VOs in sending interview notices, other VOs send interview notices at the early stage of the process (few months after AOR2, months before the interview date) but HKVO sends interview notification at the later stage (almost been one year after sending the application) gives you about less than two months preparing time.

Many applicants have to interview this month and next month, they are applicants from October to December of 2014.

To be honest, CIC can do whatever they want to...BEI JING Visa Office used to visit applicant's home...and talk to her / his parents
